Have you ever left a dinner feeling more exhausted than full?

Struggling to hear doesn’t always mean things aren’t loud enough. Sometimes it means your brain is working overtime just to fill in the gaps. And over time, that effort can feel isolating — even in a room full of people.

You deserve to feel confident in conversations, comfortable at church, and relaxed at family gatherings. Hearing well is about more than sound — it’s about being present.

If keeping up feels harder lately, let’s talk. We’re here to help you reconnect to the moments that matter most.

Clarity — not just volume — is often the real issue.

Many people say, “I can hear you talking… I just can’t understand what you’re saying.” That’s because hearing loss often affects certain pitches and speech sounds, especially consonants like S, F, T, and K. Turning things up louder doesn’t fix missing sounds — it just makes everything noisier.

That’s exactly what we evaluate and treat. Better hearing isn’t about louder. It’s about clearer.

Did you know? Around 430 million people worldwide — that’s more than the population of the U.S. and EU combined — live with disabling hearing loss, meaning their hearing is impaired enough that communication and daily life can be seriously affected. This figure comes from the World Health Organization (WHO).

The WHO explains that disabling hearing loss refers to a reduction in hearing greater than 35 decibels (dB) in the better-hearing ear — enough to make regular conversation difficult without support like hearing aids or cochlear implants.

As WHO puts it, “untreated hearing loss can have a devastating impact on people’s ability to communicate, to study and to earn a living.”

Let’s raise awareness — and remove barriers so that everyone has access to the care and technology they need.

About Dr. Tripp

Dr. Rebekah Tripp graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2009 with an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She completed her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2013. She is currently a licensed audiologist in the State of Tennessee and also holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association). She is also a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology.

She has primarily worked in Ear, Nose and Throat offices, which has given her many and varied experiences in audiology.
