Diabetes Alert Day is a day set aside by the American Diabetes Association® (ADA) to raise awareness of the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of knowing your risk. It encourages people to learn the symptoms of diabetes and understand their risk factors for developing the disease. Observed annually on the fourth Tuesday in March, this year it falls on Tuesday, March 24.

Please join us for a Community Baby Shower!
We are excited to offer an IN-Person Community Baby Shower for Lawrence County, KY residents who are pregnant or have baby under 1 year old. You will learn about WIC, HANDS, Family Resource Centers, Car Seat Safety, Breastfeeding and much more for you and your baby! Blaine Family Resource and Youth Service Center along with Lawrence County Health Department and multiple community partners will bring you EDUCATION, GIVEAWAYS and DOOR PRIZES to help you build your nest.

This event will be held at Blaine Elementary School on Saturday April 11th at 11:00 am. Snacks will be provided. We hope to see you there!

On February 18th, Public Health Advocacy Day brought together Local Health Department Directors and staff for a powerful day of collaboration and action. Across the state, these dedicated advocates met with Senators and Representatives to champion the importance of public health.
