Occupational Therapy Opportunity!

While every child is different, milestones typically occur within a general age range. Birth to 3 are important and critical years for development and early intervention is KEY!

If your child is missing a developmental milestone, request an appointment with your healthcare provider to ask them about how you can get your baby on track!

My name is Ebony Bond MS, OTR/L, and I’m a Licensed Pediatric Occupational Therapist and Owner of Work is Play. I currently serve the Early Intervention population from birth to age 3 years. I graduated from Spalding University in 2005 with my Masters in Occupational Therapy. While I have worked in a variety of settings, including Skilled Nursing, Acute care, Home Health and the Public school system, I find my passion to be coaching my families in Early Intervention. I am currently a First Steps provider and have been serving families throughout Jefferson and Bullitt Counties for the last 15 years. I am stepping out on Faith and seeking to expand my services to include private practice and serving children 0-6 years.

I seek to assist families of children with Developmental/Cognitive delays, Sensory Processing delays as well as Behavioral difficulties that may impact daily interactions. I pride myself with understanding the behaviors commonly observed within our population due to trauma, socioeconomic status and unfortunately, generational curses. Furthermore, I understand how our home life can impede daily interactions and motivation to learn. By analyzing the “Why behind the what,” I am able to assist the families I serve with understanding why the behavior or delay is occurring backed with Evidence based strategies to help close the gap in delays.

The focus of this page will be to learn about developmental milestones, deciphering between behavior vs sensory vs trauma and how to structure the day to provide the most opportunities for learning and interaction. I aim to also share information to help decide when there is a red flag or concern, who to call for support and when to ask for more specialized services.

I am so excited to stand with you on the parenting journey and pray that you will allow me to assist you in building experiences with your family one piece at a time.
