Some stories aren’t mine to share, but a local family in our community is walking through an unthinkably hard season right now with their baby girl.

There’s no way to take away their pain, but there is a way to remind them they’re not walking through it alone. This community has such a beautiful way of showing up, and I’d love for us to do that again. 💗

I’m hosting a Venmo Raffle Challenge and will donate all money to them.

✨ Each $10 donation = 1 entry to win a custom handmade state sweatshirt (you pick the size, color, state, and print).

To enter: Send your donation via Venmo to and include “local family” in the notes. I’ll draw a winner on Sunday (10/26/25).

Even if you can’t give, please join me in keeping this family close in your thoughts or prayers. Thank you. 🤍

Our Crime Scene Investigators are often focused on finding and documenting biological evidence, like trace amounts of blood or saliva that can link a suspect to a crime. This search requires precision and specialized techniques to prevent contamination. An alternate light source helps make the invisible visible.

Statement on Verbal Abuse Toward Healthcare Workers
Louisville Medical Center

At Louisville Medical Center, we are committed to providing compassionate, professional care to every person who walks through our doors. Our healthcare workers – whether doctors, nurses, support staff, or administrative team members – show up every day to serve others, often under challenging and emotional circumstances.

Let us be absolutely clear: verbal abuse toward healthcare workers will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

We understand that seeking medical care can be stressful. However, that does not excuse abusive behavior. Our staff are here to help you, not to be mistreated. We are not here for personal gain or recognition. Many of us work long hours and experience emotional and physical exhaustion. Some days are incredibly hard – and yes, sometimes we cry too.

If you come into our clinic and verbally abuse any member of our team – whether it’s because you’re frustrated, seeking medications inappropriately, or simply refusing to participate in your own care – you will be promptly asked to leave. Continued abuse may also be reported, as verbal abuse toward a healthcare provider can be considered a felony under the law.

We ask you to remember: you came to us for help. Treat the people trying to help you with the same respect and dignity you expect in return. Abuse has no place in healthcare. Not now, not ever.

Thank you for helping us keep our clinic a safe and respectful environment for all.

Don’t let Autumn “bug” you
Fall is in the air. Cooler night temps are hinting of upcoming changes as the sun is setting earlier - and rising later. Leaves are beginning to turn and their colors will be on full display once the first frost arrives.

While the mention of frost might seem a bit depressing, it will provide one welcome relief from annoying insects that can ruin autumn outdoor activities. The most recent pest being the Minute Pirate Bug, more commonly called “no-see-um”.

According to KFAB, these common tiny black bugs arrive around harvest time. Sarpy/Douglas County Extension Entomologist Jody Green told the news radio station these insects “do not carry disease nor feed on human blood, but they can bite big.”

Unfortunately, there’s not much that can be done other than cover bare skin. While insect repellent is suggested, this is to ward off mosquitoes carrying West Nile Disease and now Cache Valley Virus that is currently being reported in two health districts in southern Nebraska, including the Lincoln area.

If autumn bugs result in the need to seek urgent medical attention, Louisville Medical Center has you covered. Call us at 402-234-5049.
