Last night, our city faced a heartbreaking tragedy near the airport.
Many lives were lost, and many others are still hurting.
We are simply grateful to be safe and want to honor those who are not.
To the firefighters and first responders who have worked through the night and continue to do so now, we see you and we thank you.
During our hours today, this Friday and weekend.
KIWA will offer one free drink to those who served at the scene.
If you wish to join us, you may also pay it forward toward their drinks.
With love and care, from all of us at KIWA.

November Announcement
KIWA Matcha, now closer to your daily ritual with price down.

Starting this November, Kiwa will introduce a new Daily Matcha. It is a balanced combination of ceremonial matcha and premium grade matcha, freshly prepared every morning and hand whisked when you order. This change keeps the same depth, color, and aroma while making matcha more approachable.

Prices will be adjusted from the previous $6.8 to $5.5 for a small size matcha.

For those who wish to enjoy the full ceremonial flavor, the Ceremonial Matcha Add On will remain available at $7.0 When you choose the ceremonial option, your matcha will be freshly hand whisked at the moment of your order, offering the authentic texture, aroma, and quiet grace of a traditional tea ceremony.

The wholesale cost of ceremonial matcha has nearly doubled this year, and rather than raising every price, we chose a structure that stays fair and sustainable for both our guests and us.

After many tastings, we found the most balanced ratio between our previous ceremonial matcha and the second harvest premium matcha, keeping its vibrant color and calm flavor.

We never use pre-mixed powder or artificially colored matcha, and we never hide what we serve.

Every cup is still prepared with honesty, freshness, and care.

It is still the same Kiwa care, now shared with more people every day.

October | Herb of the Month: Mugwort

Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) has been treasured for centuries across Asia and Europe. Known as the “Mother of Herbs” in medieval times, it is packed with vitamins, iron, calcium, potassium, and minerals.

Benefits of Mugwort
* Helps ease menstrual cramps and supports women’s health
* Warms the body and calms the mind
* Promotes healthy digestion and better sleep
* Rich in nutrients that restore balance and energy

Mugwort also carries a deep cultural meaning in Korea. On October 3, National Foundation Day (Gaecheonjeol), we celebrate the founding of the first Korean nation. In the myth, a bear and a tiger wished to become human. They were told to stay in a cave and eat only mugwort and garlic for 100 days. The tiger gave up, but the bear endured and transformed into a woman, who later became the mother of Dangun, the first king of Korea.

At KIWA, we always serve organic Korean mugwort tea from Hadong. This October, we are introducing a seasonal special: Mugwort Brown Sugar Latte. A soothing balance of earthy mugwort and sweet brown sugar, perfect for the season.

Available this October only at KIWA

KIWA Chuseok Event (Oct 5 and 6)

October 6 is Chuseok, often called the Korean Thanksgiving Day.
It is one of Korea’s most important holidays, a time to honor ancestors and celebrate the harvest season.

Because it follows the lunar calendar, the date changes each year. In 2025, Chuseok falls on October 5 to 7 and the holiday continues through October 9 with Hangul Day, creating a long festive break in Korea.

During this time families and relatives gather together, but some also take the opportunity to rest and recharge.

At KIWA we wish everyone a warm and abundant Chuseok.

On October 5 and 6, when you order a Tea Pot Set you will receive a specially prepared Chuseok Tea Snack assortment. The Tea Snack Plate is also available for purchase separately for 10 dollars.

The assortment is inspired by traditional Korean holiday foods and may contain common allergens such as egg, wheat, or sesame. We cannot offer exchanges or substitutions, but upon request we can provide three KIWA Rice Flour Cookies instead.

This fall and winter, KIWA is serving Hojicha.
It might sound a little unfamiliar — it’s a cousin of Matcha, but with its own twist. Unlike Matcha, Hojicha is roasted, giving it a smooth, nutty, full bodied flavor. And It’s naturally low in caffeine, perfect for cozy afternoons and even on the evenings.
