Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
This is a time for community, joy, and thankfulness. However, the holidays can be extremely stressful and difficult for many. During this time try to give yourself and others extra kindness and patience. Let us come together as a community and give each other a helping hand. Time goes by so quickly, so it is important to truly be in the moment and appreciate these times with family, friends, or time for yourself. Well-trodden pathways are easy to continue along.
We know their way.
We know their destination.
If that is not a good place, we need to find a way off the path.

When the weather starts to get colder and the sun begins to go down earlier, there can be a negative impact on energy levels and lower mood. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) can cause severe dips of fatigue and depressive symptoms. The lack of sunlight in winter can disrupt your internal clock, or circadian rhythm, and disrupt your sleeping patterns and ability to regulate emotions. It is important to recognize these symptoms and take extra care of both your physical and mental wellbeing. Allow yourself extra patience during the holidays, which can add extra layers of stress. You are worthy of care and attention, and it is so important to make yourself a priority as well.

Thanksgiving is a time of gratitude and community but can bring a multitude of stressful and emotional challenges. Financial pressures, navigating family dynamics, and preparations are all difficult situations that can a take a toll. Recognizing these stressors and approaching them with mindfulness and awareness can make a huge difference. Setting realistic expectations, planning ahead, creating healthy boundaries, and equally focusing on your own mental wellbeing is key. Remember to be patient and allow yourself to set achievable goals during the holidays. Try to be in the moment during these days, enjoying the present rather than being too burdened with the past and the future. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Try to be kind and understanding of the people around you, and work together to create a fun, safe, and accepting environment. Disability is not defined by a singular thing. It has many different types, layers, and struggles that presents itself. Disabilities can be cognitive, developmental, mental, physical, or sensory, and can be present from birth or acquired later in life. Individuals in the disabled community have extra barriers and obstacles that they face, but this does not mean that they cannot have a healthy, happy, and flourishing life. We never know what someone else is going through in their life, so it is extremely important to be patient and kind with the people around you. People with disabilities have higher chance to experience mental distress due to many different reasons. Providing support and care is a responsibility for all of us as a functioning community. It is important to remember... it is okay to not be okay. You are not alone and it is always a positive thing to reach out. You do do not have to face these things on your own.

Today is World Mental Health Day! This day focuses on the importance of mental wellbeing and human flourishing. It is a time to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and advocate for stronger policies and services to support mental health for everyone. Today is also a day to share stories and to come together in with hope, compassion, and understanding. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and pursuing steps to ensuring progress and positive wellbeing to individuals who struggle with mental health is critical. United action can make a huge difference. Know that you are not alone and you are worthy of patience, self-care, and happiness.
