Healing is more than medicine. When a patient at AdventHealth Avista shared she would miss her annual tradition of releasing blue balloons in memory of her mother, her care team, including nurse Rikki, stepped in to make sure that moment still happened.

Rikki organized a balloon tribute, creating space for remembrance, love and spiritual healing.

More than 5,000 people received life-changing care in 2025 because compassionate volunteers chose to serve beyond our walls.

Through AdventHealth Global Missions, 168 team members and partners extended the healing ministry of Christ in Ukraine, Nepal, Peru and Lesotho. Families gained access to clean water. Mothers and newborns received vital training and support. Patients received surgeries and clinic care that restored health and renewed hope.

Every dollar given went directly to whole-person care — supporting healing for the body, strengthening resilience in the mind, and bringing comfort and faith in difficult moments.

This is our faith in action. This is how we help people feel whole.

Caring for the whole person in body, mind, and spirit is at the heart of our mission. We’re pleased to welcome Tony Hunter as ’s new Director of Mission Integration.

Tony brings 10 years of chaplaincy experience, along with a background in pastoral ministry, teaching, and graphic design. This unique blend shapes his thoughtful, creative approach to spiritual care and mission leadership.

He’s passionate about building a future-ready spiritual care department while staying deeply connected to our patients and team members, and partnering across the organization to foster a culture of compassion, meaning, and purpose.

Outside of work, Tony enjoys time with his wife, Nirma, and their three-year-old daughter, Amryn. We’re excited to welcome Tony to the Avista team and look forward to his leadership.
