Dr. Cindy Owen and our site director Dr. Pam McCullough, APRN, took on Denver for the American Academy of Dermatology conference this weekend — and of course, we had to capture it all. From networking and exploring the latest in derm to seeing Dr. Owen up on stage presenting (!!), it was such an exciting weekend for our team.

Happy National Dermatologist Day! 👩‍⚕️✨

Today we’re celebrating Dr. Megan Vissing, our board-certified dermatologist serving patients at our Indiana location.

Dr. Vissing is board certified in dermatology and an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Medical Association. Her work in dermatology extends beyond patient care — she has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications covering topics such as drug reactions, rare dermatologic conditions, and complex medical dermatology cases.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Vissing is certified in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and trained in research ethics standards including the Belmont Report, HIPAA privacy regulations, and the Declaration of Helsinki, supporting our commitment to conducting high-quality clinical research.

Dr. Owen is a board-certified dermatologist, Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Louisville, and a leader in dermatologic medicine, education, and clinical research.

Her impact on the field speaks for itself:

📖 17 book chapters
📝 Editorial Board member for JAMA Dermatology and reviewer for major journals including JAMA and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

She has also served as President of the Kentucky Dermatology Association, mentors future dermatologists at UofL, and continues to help bring innovative treatments to patients through clinical trials.

Andrew Reynolds is a Research Assistant/Recruiter at DS Research of Kentucky and a pre-med biology student at UofL. With experience in patient care, medication management, and clinical research, he plays a key role in helping our studies run smoothly — and making sure participants feel supported every step of the way.

Thank you for visiting Dermatology Specialists Research (DS Research), one of the leading clinical dermatology research groups in the Kentucky/Indiana area. Founded by Dr. Joseph F. Fowler and wife Lynn M. Fowler, RN, BSN in 1990, Dermatology Specialists Research has been providing the community with the highest level of quality dermatology clinical research trials. Since acquiring DS Research from her mentors in 2014, Nina M Scott, RN, BSN, CCRC continues to lead the research industry specializing in a variety of dermatological conditions such as eczema, atopic/contact dermatitis, rosacea, acne, psoriasis, consumer products, cosmetic and more.

Our DS Research staff consists of board certified dermatologists, nurse practitioners and registered nurses with a combined experience of well over 30 years. In addition to years of experience, all of our staff here at DS Research is required to complete annual “Good Clinical Practice” certifications to ensure that we continue to provide the best care possible to our research volunteers.

DS Research works with some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations to conduct Phase II-IV, observational and post marketing clinical research studies. Our investigators have not only conducted well over 400 studies, but have also been actively involved as consultants in study development and product formulation. DS Research is proud to offer you the latest, most advanced treatments and procedures available.
