We’re excited to share an update from our Ballet for Parkinson’s collaboration with the Louisville Ballet and Norton Healthcare!

Bellarmine DPT faculty and students completed a 5-week pilot study this semester exploring how dance can support movement, balance, and quality of life for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. This partnership brings together art, science, and community — and reflects our commitment to advancing community-based research that helps improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s and movement-related disorders.
Findings from this pilot will help inform future programming, beginning in January!

Congratulations to Dr. Dawn Hall-Bibb, DPT Associate Professor, who was recognized with the Bellarmine University Homines Pro Aliis award at the Bellie Ceremony last month! Homines Pro Aliis, meaning “men and women for others,” is an important characteristic of the Jesuit educational tradition that formed St. Robert Bellarmine, S.J., and calls us to seek to achieve the full potential of mind and of heart by leading a life beyond self through service to others.
