And you don't have to name the pattern to the people who aren't willing to see it, especially in the beginning.
That can lead to more alienation and isolation because many people just... aren't ready.
And you pointing out what they aren't ready to see or engage with may direct their mechanisms of self-protection at you.
No, they might not be able to hear or see you,
but naming the pattern and owning your experience — your feelings, your grief, your desires, and your needs — is the beginning of a new chapter in your story.
Bringing awareness to the dynamic helps you step *out* of the dynamic.
Naming it creates space between you and it.
It's not who you are. It's what you've been experiencing.
This space allows you to begin to be an observer who can make a new choice.
Who can reflect, process, grieve, and start to shift the old way of being.
This isn't about blaming anyone — it's about differentiating.
It's actually stepping into personal responsibility,
it's allowing yourself to begin to mature emotionally by being fully present to your own experiences, and giving yourself the space & support to process what was never or rarely acknowledged or supported in the past.
Your experience matters. And your story matters.
And the more present you are to the patterns, stories, and cycles,
the more agency you have to shift them going forward.
