Sarah Toma provides compassionate, caring postpartum support through placenta arts services in the Metro Louisville and Southern Indiana area. Services include placenta encapsulation, cord keepsakes, tinctures, and more. I am currently in the last stages of certifying with Association of Placenta Preparation Arts (APPA)! I am certified in OSHA-compliant Blood Borne Pathogen safety (specifically for placenta arts preparation) and keep my certification card up to date in ServSafe Food Handling safety. Safe and reliable processing wherever the mother prefers is of my utmost concern! My passion for all things birth started in college and continued as I began working at Louisville Family Chiropractic serving countless mamas and their babies! This is where I first came across placenta encapsulation and heard plenty of stories of how women were blessed and served by this postpartum support! After becoming a mama myself (and having my own placenta encapsulated), my desire to serve women in their postpartum recovery has increased all the more!

As a loss mama with two precious babies in heaven, it was with tears I held a precious, tiny placenta and made this art with prayers and grief for a family I don’t even know. It was my joy to serve them in the smallest way by creating these keepsakes for them. It will never be enough to take these home instead of their longed for babe, but I hope it gives them a small bit of comfort to have these!

Studies on dehydrated placenta have shown negligible amounts of "toxins". All well below FDA approved guidelines. Just as any food source, supplement, snack, drink or even water contains a variety of things that are all well below FDA approved levels.
Studies done on dehydrated placenta have actually shown various hormones & nutrients that can be of potential benefit to a new parent!
