Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. Wendell Russell Manning, age 58, of Louisville, who passed away Friday, December 26, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Smith and Mr. Joe Cheeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad McDowell, Bo Benton, Jamie Herrin, Tracy Faglier, Quinton Farrer, and Jerry Howell. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
A native of Louisville, Wendell was born January 7, 1967, the son of Albert Russell Manning and the late Linda Faglier Manning. He was a 1985 graduate of Louisville High School and later earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Georgia Southern University. Wendell devoted his professional life to advocating for mental health awareness and supporting others, serving as a counselor throughout Louisville and surrounding counties. Known for his wisdom and compassion, family and friends often sought his advice. In his later years, Wendell enjoyed sharing uplifting messages on Facebook to encourage and brighten the days of others.
Wendell was deeply involved in the youth ministry during his early years at Louisville First Baptist Church and later became a member under the leadership of Bill Smith, where his love of singing truly flourished. Music was one of the many ways Wendell shared his heart, and his beautiful voice brought comfort and joy to those around him. One of the most treasured memories for his family was his heartfelt performance at his sister’s wedding, a moment that will be forever cherished.
Wendell also found joy in working in his yard and gardening, especially tending to his favorite yellow roses. He proudly carried on a natural green thumb inherited from his Aunt Anne. One of his greatest passions was sharing good food and fellowship. Rarely did Wendell turn down a meal with loved ones, and second helpings—or even a third plate—were simply part of who he was.
Wendell was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Linda Faglier Manning; his paternal grandparents, Luther and Louise Manning; and his maternal grandparents, E.C. and Emma Faglier.
He is survived by his father, Albert Russell Manning; his sister and brother-in-law, Angela Brooke and Chad McDowell; his nephew, Seth M. McDowell; and his nieces, Emma C. McDowell and Mallory C. McDowell, all of Louisville.

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Elbert Carl Weaver, age 90, of Friendship Church Road in Bartow, who died Tuesday evening, December 23, 2025, at his home.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 29, at the Old Bethel Baptist Church in Bartow with Rev. Larry Fincher officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the church on Monday. Pallbearers will be: Greg Barnes, Mason Barnes, Josh Lewis, Jason Little, Kim Truong, Boe Weaver, Allen Weaver and Alan Wasden.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 30, at the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 1199 Cedar Creek Church Rd, Collins, GA 30421

A lifelong outdoorsman, he built his life and family around the swamps and saltwaters of old West Central Florida. Many that knew him could tell tales of adventures with him, as well as account for his many close calls and a steady stream of good luck, which seemed to eventually bring a laugh to all. His love and appreciation of the traditions of days long past, now live in the hearts of his family and friends. A “go-getter” (as he called himself), his work ethic was steadfast, and his family was his support, as he ran several businesses in various career fields over the years. With him, sleeping in was unheard of, and you would certainly be tired at day’s end. He believed in giving opportunities to others, and many could testify about his persistence in giving them a chance and making them believe they could be successful. Although he was not a man of many words, he made his words count, and his handshake was his unbreakable contract. He made sure his loved ones were taken care of, and providing was a hallmark of his character.

His retirement years brought him to Jefferson County, Georgia, where he found his farm home and a loving community, but he never actually retired. He grew in faith steadily all his life, but never as much as he did at home on the farm. Even in his final days, he would ask about farm chores and sing to the Lord.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Holland and Hollis Weaver; brother Sheldon Weaver; son, Elbert Carl Weaver, Jr.; and a son in-law, Danny Harris. He is survived by loving wife, Paula Weaver, of Bartow; daughter Sarah Harris, of Bartow; sons, Terry A. Weaver (Kathy) of Englewood, FL, Clois S. Weaver (Patty) of Bartow; stepdaughter, Robyn E. Clegg, of Toledo, OH; stepsons, Raymond E. Headley (Kayleen) of Live Oak, FL, Ryan L. Headley (Carrie) of Mac Farland, WI; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; special loving brother, Macon Walden (Alma) of Louisville; loving caregiver Kathy Bynum (Gary) of Wadley; friend and former wife, Shirley Luplow of Bartow; his church family; and many friends.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Thelma Estelle Stephenson Ellis, who departed this life at 98 years young. Thelma began her journey on October 29, 1927, and her spirit returned to her Lord on November 11, 2025. As the beloved matriarch of our family, she was the seed from which multiple generations grew, each rooted in the strength, wisdom, and tough love she offered so freely. She loved family gatherings, puzzles, gardening and any activity that allowed her to serve others. She once wrote that "Love is the only Flower that grows and blossoms without the aid of seasons". Thelma never failed to be there for those she loved.

Shaped by a humble upbringing, a strong sense of integrity and a work ethic based on her Christian faith, she never stressed the "small stuff" and taught those around her to focus on what truly mattered. Her unwavering faith in God and His mercy allowed her to thrive in every environment and season of life. Thelma was cherished not only by family but by friends from all walks of life and faiths, each touched by her big presence despite her short stature. Her inner strength was undeniable—feisty, determined, and unshakable, carrying her through life’s challenges with resilience and grace.

While we mourn her passing, we know that when a loved one becomes a memory, their memory becomes a treasure. We invite all who knew her to celebrate her remarkable life, her joy, her love and the countless moments she shared with us. Her legacy of courage, devotion, and indomitable spirit will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Thelma's passing was preceded by her parents, Estelle and Lancelot, brothers James and Lancelot Jr., and a sister Gwendolyn. She leaves to remember her a sister Eva Betty, a brother Andrew Kenneth, a sister-in-law Vondelle, two daughters, Ruby Veronica and Adalia Theresa, beloved nieces, nephews and an abundance of grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. God blessed Thelma to see four generations flourish beyond her own and this host of family and friends who will always love their Mom, Grandma, Grandma #2, Grandma #3, Aunt, Great-aunt, Cousin and Friend. She Loved them all!

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday November 17, 2025 in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson with Elder, Henry Lewis, Jr., officiating.
