What a beautiful Veterans Day celebration in Assisted Living! Organized by resident Rosemary, whose husband Ron is a proud veteran, the event brought our community together in gratitude.

Rev. Ric Holladay led us in music, Ron led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Phillip shared a moving performance of Eternal Father. Each branch’s song was played as our veterans stood proudly in recognition of their service.

Rosemary also shared her knowledge of the many flags our nation has flown through the years, a wonderful reminder of the history our veterans helped shape.

A heartfelt thank you to Rosemary and Ron for sponsoring this special day filled with remembrance, pride, and community. ❤️💙

Today, we recognize and thank our country’s brave veterans - especially the residents and staff within our community who have served. Your dedication, courage, and commitment to something bigger than yourselves remind us what true service looks like. We are deeply grateful for each of you.

Around our community today, our veterans proudly reflected on their service. Mr. Roach shared photos from his time in Germany in 1953. Pat, our Director of HR, wore his Army dress uniform as he spoke at The Village potluck, and his daughter’s kindergarten class sent handmade drawings for him to share with fellow veterans.

Yesterday, our President & CEO, Ray, had the joy of sharing a reflection with the congregation at Fern Creek United Methodist Church, a church deeply woven into the history and heart of Wesley Manor.

Ray spoke on Matthew 18:1–6 and the call to welcome and care for those who depend on the kindness of others. It’s a reminder that every act of compassion is a way of welcoming Christ Himself.

Wesley Manor was founded through the vision and generosity of United Methodist churches like Fern Creek, and that connection is still our lifeblood. Many of our residents, including longtime friends like June Duggan and new faces like Ms. Hawkins, have roots in this incredible church community.

As we enter a season of gratitude, we give thanks for Fern Creek UMC for continuing to support our mission and walk alongside us in this kingdom work.
