Today we launched the Hardship to Hope Food Relief Fund to help families affected by the suspension of SNAP benefits. Metro United Way will provide Kroger gift cards directly to SNAP recipients living in our service area who have at least one child under 18, or an elderly individual in the home. Starting Nov. 3, families will be able to apply for and receive a gift card. More info to come on that!

We have invested $500,000 into the fund and have early commitments from Caesars Foundation of Floyd County, GE Appliances, LG&E and KU Foundation, Republic Bank Foundation, and The UPS Foundation. Thank you to our partners in this effort: Association of Community Ministries, Dare to Care Food Bank, Louisville Urban League, Inc., UFCW Local 227, and Greater Louisville Inc.- The Metro Chamber of Commerce. The way our community is mobilizing to help families in this moment truly shows how !
