"Phone neck," also known as "tech neck" or "text neck," is a common term for neck pain and damage caused by looking down at electronic devices for prolonged periods. An adult head typically weighs 10-12 pounds in a neutral position, but this force on the neck increases dramatically when tilted forward (up to 60 pounds at a 60-degree angle). This posture puts significant strain on the cervical spine and surrounding muscles, which can lead to various symptoms and potential long-term issues.
