SOS In so doing, SOS succeeds in improving healthcare for the poor and underserved around the world, including in our own region.

SOS improves healthcare access for those in need locally and around the world by collecting surplus medical supplies from healthcare systems and using the items to save lives rather than going into landfills. SOS is a Louisville, KY based humanitarian aid organization that promotes global health, environmental stewardship, and community awareness through the efficient recovery and responsible distribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment. SOS is one of only 7 accredited medical surplus recovery organizations in the U.S.

Translation - "God bless for everything you are doing. Thanks so much!"

Enjoy this message from Fletcher Padoko, founder of Kasupe Ministries and a long-time SOS partner, who returned to SOS week - now as a newly elected Member of Parliament in Malawi! Fletcher is deeply committed to improving healthcare in his district of Balaka, and his visit marked an exciting next chapter in our partnership.

He left with critical medical supplies—including dressings, gloves, and baby bottles—for the Balaka District Hospital. Together, we also began planning a full shipping container of medical aid to be sent in the coming months to further strengthen care for patients across the region.

From a grassroots partnership to national leadership, this is what sustainable impact looks like. 🌍

These images tell a powerful story of SOS's impact in Pakistan. 💙

We shared a video last fall from Dr. Scott Armistead with INMED - Institute for International Medicine who visited SOS to pick up supplies for an upcoming medical mission trip. His team was able to treat 45–50 patients a day—many battling serious illnesses including diabetes, measles, Hepatitis A, tuberculosis, and mumps.

They saw an alarming surge in dengue fever cases, even at 4,000 feet in elevation, where mosquito-borne illness had never been recorded before. Recent flooding combined with low vaccination rates has created a dangerous situation for families in the region.

Among those treated was a young girl who developed pneumonia following measles—a life-threatening complication that required immediate care.

Because of your support, essential supplies are helping medical teams respond, treat, and save lives when it matters most.

Mending smiles and restoring hope.💚

SOS recently donated supplies for an Operation International medical team traveling to Vietnam. They screened 77 patients and performed 45 surgeries!! This included triplets who had their first cleft lip surgery at 3 months old and returned for the next phase of palette repair. They also treated a teenage boy who never learned to read because he had been forced out of school at a young age due to constant bullying.

Powerful words taken from the team's report... "Even the smallest act of compassion can ripple outward to change the course of a life." 💙

📦💙 Stocked, Ready, and Stepping Boldly into 2026 💙📦

Today we picked up a large supply order from our valued community partner, SOS—and our shelves are full as we head into 2026 prepared and ready to serve.

These supplies directly support our harm reduction outreach program, allowing us to continue breaking down barriers, mitigating harm, and increasing hope for individuals and families who need it most.

Each box represents safety, dignity, and a commitment to meeting people where they are—without judgment and without conditions.

We are deeply grateful for partnerships like this that help sustain and strengthen our mission. Because of community support, we are able to start the new year equipped to show up, respond to urgent needs, and continue saving lives.

✨ Together, we are building a healthier, more compassionate community—one outreach at a time.

Last chance to double your impact before year’s end!

In 2025, you helped change and save more than 600,000 lives. Adam received a working wheelchair and moved off the streets into permanent housing. Brianna earned her Certified Nursing Assistant degree and is building a better future for herself and her young son. Mothers and infants will soon be saved in a new maternity hospital in Tamale, Ghana.

These stories are possible because of you—but so many are still waiting for help.

⏰Give now. It’s the last chance for your year-end gift to be matched and go twice as far. --> https://soshealthandhope.org/donate/

Kiara James with Pushing Forward stopped by last week and told us how SOS has helped her meet the needs of those she serves. Take it from Kiara - the process of requesting supplies from SOS is easy, and we can help more individuals when we work together.

Keep up the great work, Kiara! We are honored to support your work empowering those with spinal cord injuries in our community!

Year-end giving is critical to our work. 💙 It ensures SOS is ready to answer calls for help in 2026 — from mothers and children in the developing world, to neighbors here at home with unmet medical needs, to injured and abandoned animals in need of care.

SOS brought health & hope to thousands this year — helping children receive life-changing surgeries, empowering our neighbors with mobility challenges, and giving rescue pets a second chance at life.

SOS Saves Lives Locally and Globally

SOS is a Global Health Organization based in Louisville, KY. We provide medical supplies and health resources to hospitals, clinics and social service organizations in impoverished communities locally and globally. SOS partners with over 100 U.S. hospitals and medical institutions to recover surplus medical supplies and equipment. SOS saves over 500,000 pounds of supplies a year from going to landfills, which protects soil, water and air quality. The supplies are then redistributed to medically impoverished communities worldwide through SOS’s Global Health Program, and to local social service agencies, animal welfare organizations, and medical education institutions through SOS’s Local Health Program.

SOS has been nationally recognized for best practice and highest ethics and is one of only nine accredited medical surplus recovery organizations in the U.S. For more information call 502-736-6360 or visit: http://www.soshealthandhope.org.
