SOS In so doing, SOS succeeds in improving healthcare for the poor and underserved around the world, including in our own region.

SOS improves healthcare access for those in need locally and around the world by collecting surplus medical supplies from healthcare systems and using the items to save lives rather than going into landfills. SOS is a Louisville, KY based humanitarian aid organization that promotes global health, environmental stewardship, and community awareness through the efficient recovery and responsible distribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment. SOS is one of only 7 accredited medical surplus recovery organizations in the U.S.

The time is now. ๐Ÿ’™

Take just one precious minute of your day โ€” and whatever amount you can โ€” to support SOS and know youโ€™ve done something meaningful to give back this holiday season.

Last year, SOS brought Health & Hope to thousands:
โ€ข 221,018 mothers and children served through new hospitals and clinics in the developing world
โ€ข 15,548 individuals locally โ€” including low-income seniors and those experiencing housing insecurity โ€” received medical care
โ€ข 5,897 abandoned and injured animals received treatment to help them heal and prepare for their forever homes

The need continues to grow every day. Give today and make a lasting impact this holiday season.

At Tororo General Hospital in Uganda, conditions are heartbreaking โ€” overcrowded rooms, extreme heat, outdated equipment, and a severe shortage of basic medical supplies.

This report comes from one of SOSโ€™s hand-carry partners, who witnessed firsthand how deeply needed โ€” and appreciated โ€” these supplies are by both hospital staff and patients. Simple items made a meaningful difference, easing suffering and restoring dignity in an incredibly challenging environment.

This is the impact of SOS: supporting frontline healthcare workers and bringing hope where resources are scarce.

Because of you, more joy is in motion.โœจ

Thanks to an amazing collaboration with Jefferson County Public Schools Louisville Lightning, young Everette now has a specialized bike that lets him join his family on neighborhood rides โ€” a simple joy that became life-changing.

His story inspired physical therapists from JCPS to visit SOS, where they picked up 21 special-needs mobility items for children who need them most.

Your gift to SOS keeps this momentum going โ€” helping us deliver hope, mobility, and dignity to families across our community.

Here's to the many casts and smiles we made possible for children in Siguatepegue, Honduras!๐Ÿ™Œ

SOS provided medical supplies for a team of doctors with Sharing Resources Worldwide on a recent trip to John Eaves Medical Clinic. They screened over 70 children and found 31 (ages 6 months to 19 years old) who needed surgery. Some traveled for 11 hours to be seen, as this type of specialized care is scarce in the region.

Thank you to our supporters who believe in our work - this is what we make happen, together. ๐Ÿ’™

Last week, we loaded up more than a dozen pieces of pediatric mobility equipment for JCPS's physical therapy team! ๐Ÿ’™

These items will help students with physical disabilities move, learn, play, and thrive โ€” both at school and at home. Weโ€™re grateful for partners like JCPS who help us ensure medical resources make a real impact right here in our community. ๐Ÿ™Œ

SOS Saves Lives Locally and Globally

SOS is a Global Health Organization based in Louisville, KY. We provide medical supplies and health resources to hospitals, clinics and social service organizations in impoverished communities locally and globally. SOS partners with over 100 U.S. hospitals and medical institutions to recover surplus medical supplies and equipment. SOS saves over 500,000 pounds of supplies a year from going to landfills, which protects soil, water and air quality. The supplies are then redistributed to medically impoverished communities worldwide through SOSโ€™s Global Health Program, and to local social service agencies, animal welfare organizations, and medical education institutions through SOSโ€™s Local Health Program.

SOS has been nationally recognized for best practice and highest ethics and is one of only nine accredited medical surplus recovery organizations in the U.S. For more information call 502-736-6360 or visit: http://www.soshealthandhope.org.
