WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAVING A MOTHER'S LIFE?
Saving one woman may save a mother and her family. Saving one mother may solve other issues arising in the family and in the community. Maybe even lowering the influx of orphans.
Today we could have prevented 10 woman from dying of cervical cancer - in fact we could have wiped this cancer out with wepy spent on Mother Day's presents. But we need
the will to do it - just as we did with Polio!!!
Happy Mother's Day to all women worldwide
From the entire Council of Governors here at the WGCA.

WGCA Honors its Nurses
The WGCA is blessed with the best nurses in the world - we honor them not only this week but the other 51 weeks as well. We begin with our nurse director of the Cervical Cancer Prevention Clinic, Edline Andre and our associate nurse director, Marline St Louis. Our governing Council is blessed with two Deans of nursing schools, Dean Hilda Alcindor and Dean Sue Davis. The WGCA council is also blessed by its leadership, Council President, Jane Younger - a nurse with outstanding international experience. And finally, who else but our crown jewel of 2019, Danta Bien Aime whose leadership and talent allowed us to move forward in developing the Clinic in Gonaives. She has gone on to become a Fulbright Scholar and is now completing her first year at Harvard in Global Health. Three of our 4 nurses are from Gonaives and another heads the nursing school in Leogane where all of the nursing talent seems to reside.
At this important juncture, let us - in unison - celebrate the Nurses of the WGCA!

WGCA is changing the lives of women struggling with preventable cancer against seemingly impossible odds of geographic and economic barriers.
Currently, WGCA operates a cancer screening and treatment clinic in Gonaives, Haiti. Our medical team screens women for cervical cancer. Those needing treatment have received the surgical and follow up care each requires to heal.
The clinic has screened more than 2,000 women for cervical cancer, one of the most preventable, yet often fatal, diseases in Haiti.
WGCA also has provided medical equipment and supplies to the only children’s clinic in Gonaives, advancing the health and wellness of entire families in the community.
Thank you for your generous support to advance women’s health in low-resource countries. Together, we are changing the lives of women and their families.
