🎉 Ring in the New Year safely!

As you celebrate, keep these quick eye safety tips in mind:
1️⃣ Be cautious with fireworks
Watch from a safe distance and leave the lighting to trained professionals.
2️⃣ Watch out for champagne corks
Corks can fly up to 50 mph! Point bottles away from yourself and others, and open slowly.
3️⃣ Use confetti cannons carefully

Handheld or air-powered poppers can cause eye injuries if used too close to others. Protect your eyes and enjoy a bright, safe start to the new year! 🥂🎆

🎉 Happy Retirement, Dr. Randall Noblitt! Please join us in celebrating Dr. Noblitt as he retires from John-Kenyon after more than 30 years of dedicated service providing comprehensive medical eye care.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Noblitt has not only cared for countless patients but also mentored the next generation of optometrists at Kentucky College of Optometry, Southern College of Optometry, and Indiana University School of Optometry through our Optometric Intern Program—leaving a lasting impact on the profession.

Dr. Noblitt’s path began at Indiana University, followed by clinical training and a fellowship with Omni Eye Services. He later served as past president of the Southeast Society of the Indiana Optometric Association and earned board certification from the American Board of Optometry, further demonstrating his passion for excellence in eye care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Noblitt has shared his talents on mission trips to Mexico City and Tori, Panama. He also enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and grandchildren, biking, hiking, kayaking, working with youth at church, and cheering on IU basketball.

Dr. Noblitt, thank you for your decades of service, compassion, and leadership. We are grateful for the countless lives you’ve touched and wish you a joyful retirement filled with family, adventure, and all the things you love! 💙

Dr. Finch visited with preschoolers during Health Week! The children had a wonderful time learning how their eyes work and how to keep them healthy. 🥬🥕They even got to see the cool tools doctors use! 👀
Thanks Dr. Finch! Maybe there will be some future Optometrists in this group! 🥰👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month.

People with diabetes have a higher risk of developing serious eye conditions—including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and cataracts.

This month and every month, we encourage those living with diabetes to take proactive steps to protect their vision. A comprehensive dilated eye exam is one of the best ways to catch problems early and preserve sight. 👁️💙
