Deafmetal is so cool!

Hello! There are suddenly so many new faces here, that I thought it'd be a good time for reintroductions.

This is Jenni. Jenni is the creator and designer (and all-round radical creative force) of Deafmetal.

In short, Jenni will tell you Deafmetal was an accident, but really, creating the first hearing aid jewelry was something that came so naturally to her, that you could say she was only following her gut instincts.

In 2018 Jenni was an accessories designer, designing for celebrities and rock stars and styling for some of the biggest awards and ceremonies from her homeland, Finland, all the way to the USA. In 2018, she started wearing hearing aids, and within a few days she had them laid out on her designer's table... The problem was that they lacked style and personality, and so, using chains and leathers, she 'fixed them up’ to look and feel like her own. She then posted them online with the hashtag

"Deafmetals" blew up, and she found herself closing the door on her old designer life, and instead answering requests for hearing device jewelry from all around the world. Deafmetal was born organically, in the hands of a hard of hearing designer, and as she'll tell you, nothing she’s done has ever mattered more.

I've learnt that a lot of things come to Jenni 'like accidents,' and if we could all peek inside her head we'd probably just see ideas growing everywhere, like (yellow) wildflowers. Her head and her heart are really special places... and that's how she's managed to create something that means so much to so many people - including me (your hard of hearing narrator).

Deafmetal isn’t just the baby of a hard of hearing creator, but deaf and hard of hearing people steer everything we do… the designing, the making, the content creating, right down to the person answering your questions and comments.
