Non-engagement responses (NERs) are hard but essential to your OCD journey! Why use NERs? OCD thrives off of our attention and engagement and doing so reinforces the cycle! OCD is greedy and will never be fully satisfied with all of your reassurance, compulsions, and mental energy. So then what? Acknowledge the obsession, anxiety, and intrusive thought and move on.
