Core Pilates And Yoga Studio Welcome to Core Pilates and Yoga! It doesn’t matter if you don’t know a thing about Pilates, that’s why we’re here.

Whatever your age or physical condition, we will help you reach your mind/body goals with unique methods designed especially for you. New Pilates Students

Students entering the studio are matched with a certified Instructor to introduce them to the practice of Pilates. The private session helps the instructor identify the movement patterns that need to be addressed for better posture and fitness. The Initial lesson includes work on the Pilates Apparatus as well as floor exercises. Our goal is to give you a place to practice the Pilates Method in small supervised classes in a tranquil setting. Unlike many gym-style Pilates classes that focus on having as many people as possible in a class; we tailor a program to fit the student's needs and goals in small manageable class. Classes are limited to keep the quality of instruction at a high level. Monica Vaught-Compton discovered yoga in her early twenties and has been a dedicated practitioner ever since. What began as a journey of personal transformation naturallv evolved into guiding others along the path.

For her, yoga is a way of life - expressed through daily mat practice meditation, and pranayama. She holds teaching authorization in Series 1-3 of Yogastha Sadhana. a vinvasa-based method with roots in the Ashtanga and Ivengar traditions, and has completed additional trainings in yoga philosophy breathwork, wellness. inversions, and core integration.

Meeting students where they are - from experienced practitioners to those new to the mat - Monica teaches with depth and practicality while supporting a grounded awakening of body and mind. She teaches weekly at Core Pilates and Yoga in Norton Commons.

A Kentucky native, Briana worked at Core Studios in its early days between moving to and from various cities Briana has worked at the 3 terations/ locations Core has had. She returnec once again to the area in 2020, bringing with her over 25 years of movement teaching experience. Her background began in dance and evolved through teaching fitness, yoga, Pilates, as well as working in rehabilitation and research for spinal cord iniuries, and then GYROTONICR and GYROKINESISR methods. Briana has been a Pilates Teacher Trainer for 2 well-known Pilates Teacher programs out of New York City, including the Kane School at Kinected. She is the creator of Compassionate Movement Practice for Cancer and Autoimmune conditions (a PMA accredited course), she has mentored Pilates Instructors from all backgrounds and had an incredibly effective Residency Program in her studio ir Chicago. Briana is Kentucky's only GYROTONICR Pre-Trainer, meanina she is qualified to teach the first laver of teacher education within this rigorous movement education system. Her teaching is grounded in clarity, precision, and a deep respect for the body's intelligence.

Briana holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from the University of Louisville and has worked extensively in both studio anc clinical settings, including at Frazier Rehab and Neuroscience Center in spinal cord iniury research and rehabilitation programs.
