Spotlight on Art Therapist, Elizabeth GH Philips, LPATA
Elizabeth wants any individual of any background to be able to feel safe and welcome to be themselves authentically to achieve healing and growth. Elizabeth received her Master of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services with a concentration in Art Therapy from the University of Louisville in 2024 and currently practices as a Licensed Professional Art Therapist Associate (LPATA) under the supervision of Mandee McKelvey, LPAT-S. Elizabeth primarily focuses on working with adults. Elizabeth has worked with individuals with a range of diagnosis’, finding special interest in working with Anxiety, Depression, OCD, ADHD, and Level 1 ASD. Elizabeth has experience in working with those individuals who are undergoing grief, have experienced traumas, struggling in their identity development, and those with low self-concept. Elizabeth’s goal when working with a client is to act as a kind force in their clients’ lives to help them to make positive changes in their lives, their outlook, and their thinking. While Person-Centered Therapy is their primary theoretical background, Elizabeth supplements their care approach using some techniques from Solution Focused therapies, Q***r Informed and Trauma Informed therapy practices, as well as some basic methods from ACT and DBT.
