⭐️ Staff Spotlight Friday – Lisa Clayton ⭐️
This week we are excited to spotlight Lisa Clayton, a cornerstone of our Pediatric NeuroRecovery team!
Tell us a little about yourself:
Lisa is a proud Louisville, KY native and a graduate of the very first full Magnet Class at DuPont Manual High School. She went on to attend Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, AL, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
She is the oldest grandchild and oldest child on both sides of her family and is the proud mom of Adam (23) and Bryce (22).
Outside of work, Lisa loves music, sewing, crocheting, and baking!
How long have you worked in spinal cord injury?
Lisa joined Dr. Behrman’s team in 2013 as a research coordinator on a Neilsen grant—making her the longest-standing member of the Pediatric NeuroRecovery team.
What is the best part of working with our kids?
“Seeing all the progress the children make! When I started, I was recruiting families from all over the country. Some of those kids are now flourishing teens and adults. I also truly enjoy assisting families and helping make their time in Louisville as pleasant as possible.”
What is an interesting fact no one knows about you?
Lisa originally planned to become a nurse, but a summer research program at Alma College shifted her passion to Biology.
Favorite food:
Chicken wings!
How long have you been with our program?
12 years and counting!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Telekinesis!
Lisa, thank you for everything you do for our kids, our families, and our team. We are so grateful for your dedication! 💙
