I created Omology with the intention to facilitate community + gathering for self-growth minded folks aligned towards whole-being health and spiritual wellness. It's so important to find what nourishes the soul, to connect with others and commune with humans who share in our values of well-being and spiritual connection. A little about me: I'm a reiki professional, shamanic practitioner, yoga teacher and mental wellness guide. I've spent the last 8 years blending yoga, energy, intuitive and spiritual practices with psychotherapy for folks moving through stress, anxiety, depression, chronic illness and trauma. Through this experience with clients and students, as well as my own personal journey, I've observed that for whole healing, we need to access all our layers: body, mind, emotion, energy, soul, spirit. And we need collective support, together. It is my heart's intention to create nurturing space for just this type of learning, growing, healing, connection and community.

i remember the very first time i “practiced” energy healing ~ it was like learning how to breathe. something we can both consciously practice and something that is so inborn with in us, we can’t help but do it organically ~ that’s what energy healing has become to me.

i know that in the reiki tradition, sharing energy healing is strictly on a by consent basis, which i completely get and respect. and at the same time, my experience more recently has been that energy healing naturally emanates from us ~ and those who can receive it, will.

this, among other interesting changing ideas about energy healing, has come up so often in recent reiki training cohorts, that i couldn’t help but conclude that it’s due time to offer an evolved take on the ancient future practice of energy healing.

Why does the body spontaneously move during a Spinal Energetics session?

(even when the practitioner is not directly engaging with them)

The modality specifically activates the nervous system. When spontaneous movement occurs, the client is listening to their own innate intelligence to unwind stored tension patterns.

When the nervous system is activated in a safe and supported setting, the client’s system is free to express what has previously been repressed.

Repression happens when stress or trauma occurs and it is not safe, or perceived to be safe, to fully work it out through the nervous system. The system begins to store this stress, which can cause cascade of physical or mental health symptoms.

Repression in the moment isn’t wrong— it’s what the system reads as the most safe option at the time. This, too, is intelligence of the system! However, eventually it’s very necessary to make room for expression, unwinding of tension and release.

I really can’t emphasize enough how vital it is to let the system *express itself*.

This is one reason why I love this modality, Spinal Energetics, so much. There is no instruction, no outside suggestion or manipulation of what to do “to heal”. It simply offers a guiding light, a spark of inspiration, gentle redirection to the storehouse of our vitality (the spine!) and a deeply held safe space to process and express by *your own design*.

We can have all the self-awareness, see it all so clearly, see our patterns and the things we want to change— such as heavy/stuck emotional content, negative thought patterns, habits we dislike, it could be anything—

and still have the frustrating experience of being unable to access the change.

That’s because self-awareness alone, paired with plenty of thinking about it, talking about it, journaling about it, making a fuss about it…..

won’t change how it’s patterned in the body.

The first step is self-awareness.

Becoming aware of our-self, our patterns, our unprocessed emotions, our distorted thinking, our habits that aren’t working for us.

But that’s just one step.

The next is to invite the entire self, the holistic self, into the conversation.

This especially includes the body, the soma. The physical body. The energetic body. The whole Body, which includes all the layers of self.

Somatic work is so valuable because it actually gets to into the places where our patterns live. The patterns live in the densities of the body.

I like to think of it like this:

The work of self-awareness, talk therapy, identifying our patterns, seeing it all clearly— is like finally turning on the light in the junk closet. It’s a big first step! To take a look at what’s there.

And then.

When we’re ready, it’s time to do the work of cleaning out the closet. It’s time to do the somatic + energetic work of actually accessing what is sitting there.

We need to turn the light of awareness on, to see what we’re working with, but the light alone isn't going to move, change, transmute or alchemize it.

It’s our body-based, somatic and energetic practices that do the big moving, shaking, changing, and alchemizing.

in wise cultures aligned with 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝, the highly sensitive & “divergent” are considered high value & integral parts of their communities— exactly as they are.

these ones embraced & appreciated for the otherwise inaccessible gifts they offer their people: healing, medicine, spiritual insight, prophecy, art, music, visionary creation and beyond.

we’ve had it inverted here in the western dominant culture. as the tides turn, so this (recent) old paradigm falls away.

we are sitting in a viscerally observable turning point right now. on the edge of the old & new. the new that was the very old way— but got lost and distorted for purposes of domination & control. the very sensitive aren’t anchored by the laws of this 3D-realm, therefore their very existence is a threat to “norm” for the sake of agenda.

as we 𝙖𝙡𝙡 reclaim our power, the sensitive ones do, too. i believe these will be the leaders, visionaries & creators of what’s next, possible and right around the corner. we already are✨

even if you don’t consider yourself a leader or a wayshower, you’re desired in your truest authentic expression— eccentricities, specific needs, gifts and all.
