This winter storm threw us a major curveball, and I want to give a huge shout-out to our team—especially those who stayed overnight. You turned the building into a Winter Survival Resort and kept things running with teamwork, creativity, and a whole lot of caffeine. Your commitment made all the difference. To those who braved the icy roads to make it in, some of you arrived looking like you’d survived a Discovery Channel special. Thank you for pushing through and showing up with grit and good humor.

And to those who wanted to be here but couldn’t safely escape the ice—we get it. Your safety mattered most, and your willingness still means a lot.

Whether you stayed overnight, trekked in, or cheered us on from home, thank you for being an incredible team.

Snowy Day Creativity at Village Crossing! To celebrate the snowy weather, our residents enjoyed a cozy, fun-filled Arts & Crafts session where we created the cutest sock snow people! Using soft white socks, creative hats, buttons, ribbons, and plenty of imagination, each snow person came to life with its own personality and charm.

Friday happy hour was a good reminder of why we do what we do. It’s easy as a manager to get wrapped up in the day-to-day operations, but the real joy comes from serving our residents and doing life alongside them. Today we sang, danced, and simply enjoyed the moment—live music playing and laughter filling the room.

Moments like these are a gift. I’m grateful for the opportunity to spend time with such incredible people. ❤️

Last week, we lost a valued member of our Village Crossing family. Kaden Givens, one of our servers, passed away.

Kaden was more than a great employee—he genuinely loved our residents and was deeply loved in return. He always carried a smile and had a special gift for knowing what someone needed before they even asked.

He will be greatly missed, but his kindness, spirit, and the joy he brought to our community will always remain part of Village Crossing.

Cheers to the New Year at Village Crossing! Our community rang in the New Year with an unforgettable celebration! Residents enjoyed a delicious plated meal, sipped champagne and sparkling grape juice, and watched New Year’s Eve celebrations from around the world on our big projector screen. The highlight of the night? Our countdown, filled with laughter, cheers, and joy as we welcomed a fresh start together. Today we kicked off our brand-new Ageless Grace program, and if enthusiasm were a workout, our residents would already be sore—in the best way possible. 💪🧠

A huge shout-out to Sheridan, our incredible Lifestyle Director and newly certified Ageless Grace Educator, who absolutely crushed it. From the first movement to the last laugh, she had our residents engaged, smiling, and fully leaning into the joy of play and imagination. Her energy is contagious, her heart for our residents is unmatched, and this program couldn’t be in better hands.

Ageless Grace combines movement and imagination to give the brain and body a daily workout. It’s fun, functional, and accessible for everyone—and today’s kickoff proved just how powerful (and joyful) that combination can be.

As we head into 2026, we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. Because as George Bernard Shaw so perfectly said:

“We don’t stop playing because we get old. We get old because we stop playing.”

And thanks to Sheridan, we’re just getting started. 💙✨

As the Community Manager, I get a front-row seat to the little things that matter most. This morning, I followed the sound of singing into the dining room and found Juan, our morning cook, leading the entire room in a joyful round of Happy Birthday for one of our residents. No agenda. No announcement. Just heart. This is what it looks like when people don’t just work here — they care here. And I couldn’t be prouder of this team.
