Doctor Spotlight: Dr. Melissa Atencio

We're proud to introduce Dr. Melissa Atencio, who brings extensive training and a true passion for patient care to our Northern Colorado community! 👓✨

Originally from Grand Junction, Dr. Atencio is excited to be practicing in her home state. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed a residency in ocular disease at the Orlando VA Medical Center. 🏥

Dr. Atencio is highly trained in retinal disease, medically necessary contact lenses, low vision, emergency care, and glaucoma management — with a special passion for treating glaucoma. 💡

Outside of the clinic, she loves traveling and spending time with friends, family, and her two adorable cats, Finley and Elliott. 🐾💚
