Our incredible partners at Loveland Fire Rescue Authority put together this fabulous tribute video for our Loveland Emergency Communications Center in honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 2026.

If you’ve ever called 911 in the Loveland or Berthoud area, these incredible people are the voice of calm on the other end of the line. 🚑🚓🚒

911 Dispatchers are often forgotten heroes because they aren’t the ones arriving on scene with lights flashing and sirens roaring… but they are the life line for everyone who makes that 911 call in a time of crisis.❤️

Thank you, Loveland Emergency Communications Center for what you do each and every day for our NoCo community 🫶🏼

Thompson Valley EMS is so lucky to have the LECC at the Loveland Police Department supporting our crews out in the field as well! We just want to say Happy National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and, THANK YOU LECC!❤️💙🚓🚑

This is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and we have an amazing team, Loveland.

Let us brag?

Recently, our Loveland Emergency Communications Center (LECC) earned reaccreditation as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) in Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD) through the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).

Yes, a lot of acronyms. All for good reason.

Read on: 👇🏼

This distinction marks a significant achievement and reflects years of consistent excellence. LECC first earned accreditation in 2007 and undergoes a rigorous reaccreditation process every three years.

The IAED accreditation process includes completion of 20 Points of Accreditation, an extensive evaluation by industry experts, and a final review by IAED. Once awarded, accreditation remains valid for three years, with strict standards maintained throughout.

With nearly 6,000 Public Safety Communication Centers operating in the United States, few centers reach this level of recognition. Even fewer sustain it for nearly two decades.

Pride in our LECC and Communications Specialists runs deep. Their commitment, professionalism, and daily impact on public safety set the standard.

There are some thank yous that stick with you… and this one came with a pretty sweet bonus.💙❤

This morning we had the honor of reconnecting with a local Girl Scout troop and their family after our crews responded to a call involving one of their loved ones. Seeing them again under much better circumstances is what this job is all about.

To show their appreciation, the troop stopped by with an incredibly generous donation of Girl Scout cookies for the two paramedics who responded to that call. Safe to say, gratitude has never tasted this good.🍪

Now, we won’t name names… but let’s just say these two medics are currently holding significant bargaining power around the stations. Morale is high. Negotiations are ongoing.😎

In all seriousness, moments like this remind us why we do what we do. We are grateful for the trust our community places in us and for the opportunity to be there when it matters most.

Thank you to this amazing troop for your kindness, your generosity, and for brightening our day.🫶

It's all about - Teamwork!

This morning, a small wildfire west of Berthoud near Carter Lake brought multiple agencies together with one shared focus: Protecting our community.

Thompson Valley EMS deployed our Special Operations Team (SOT) medics to the scene, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our Northern Colorado partners in emergency management, fire, and law enforcement. These moments are exactly why we’ve invested in building and strengthening our SOT capabilities, so we are ready to respond wherever and however we’re needed.

Thanks to the quick, coordinated efforts of all agencies on scene, the fire was contained efficiently, and evacuation orders were lifted.

This is what teamwork looks like.
And when first responders work together, our communities are safer because of it.🚓🚑🚒

Thanks for the great work, Berthoud Fire Protection District, Larimer County Sheriff's Office, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, and Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control 💙

On Tuesday, we had a few extra stars at TVEMS Headquarters ⭐

Larimer County Sheriff John Feyen stopped by to connect with our team and say hello to Chief Robinson (oh, and, more importantly, to see his lovely wife, Cheryl 😎). When leaders from across our first responder community come together, it’s more than just a visit, it’s a reflection of the strong partnerships that support the people we serve every day.🚓🚑

At Thompson Valley EMS, we’re proud to work alongside the Larimer County Sheriff's Office and our public safety partners across Northern Colorado. That collaboration means faster coordination, stronger response, and better outcomes for our community when it matters most. 🫶

Because when it comes to emergency response, teamwork isn’t optional; it’s essential!

🚨 (Kinda) BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

In an effort to improve response times and be the envy of ALL first response agencies everywhere, TVEMS is excited to introduce our newest rapid-response unit…

✨ The TVEMS Hoverboard Response Team ✨

That’s right. Why deal with traffic when you can glide past it? Our crews have been hard at work perfecting their balance, patient care skills, and, most importantly, not falling in front of bystanders... seriously, it's harder than it looks!

All jokes aside, while hoverboards may not be hitting the streets anytime soon, our commitment to fast, high-quality care is no joke.

Happy April Fools’ Day from your TVEMS crews! Image AI generated, but you probably already knew that 🙃

❤️ You can start a heart. ❤️

Learn the skills at our CPR/AED class on Tuesday, April 7th.

When someone experiences cardiac arrest, the first few minutes matter most. Before first responders arrive, it is often a bystander who makes the difference.

That is why we are proud to partner with BridgeWell Foundation of Northern Colorado, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, City of Loveland, Colorado - Government, Loveland Police Department, and Berthoud Fire Protection District to offer this important class.

This certified American Heart Association course will teach you how to:
• Perform high-quality CPR
• Use an AED with confidence
• Respond to choking emergencies

You will leave with a 2-year certification and the skills to step in when it matters most.

This is more than a class. It is an opportunity to protect your family, your coworkers, and your neighbors.

Every person trained strengthens the safety of our entire community.

📲 While you are at it, download the FREE PulsePoint app to get alerted if someone nearby needs CPR and to locate the nearest AED.

💜 March 26 is Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness 💜

At TVEMS, we respond to medical emergencies every day, and seizures are one of the more common calls our crews see in the field. Today is an opportunity to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and share simple ways our community can help.

Epilepsy affects millions of people worldwide, and for many, it’s a condition they manage every single day with strength and resilience.

🚑 If you witness a seizure, here’s how you can help:
✔️ Stay calm and time the seizure
✔️ Protect their head and move objects away
✔️ Turn them gently onto their side once the seizure is over
✔️ Do NOT put anything in their mouth or try to hold them down
✔️ Call 911 for assistance

Sometimes, the most important care starts before we even arrive.

By learning what to do, you can make a real difference in someone’s life during a critical moment.

💬 Help us spread awareness. Have you or someone you know been impacted by epilepsy?

March… or July? ☀️

Northern Colorado is getting a taste of record-breaking warmth this week, with temperatures pushing 90 degrees today and tomorrow. While we all enjoy a little early sunshine, this kind of heat this early can catch people off guard.

At TVEMS, we’re already thinking ahead to how this impacts our community.

Here are a few simple ways to stay safe and comfortable:
💧 Hydrate early and often – don’t wait until you feel thirsty
🧢 Dress for the weather – lightweight clothing and sun protection go a long way
⏰ Take breaks if you’re outdoors – especially during peak afternoon heat
🚗 Never leave kids or pets in vehicles – even for a few minutes

Early-season heat can be tougher on the body because we’re not acclimated yet, so take it easy and check in on neighbors, especially older adults and those with health conditions.

The good news? This warm-up won’t stick around forever. (Colorado will be Colorado 😎)

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and enjoy the sunshine responsibly.
