Let’s discuss the importance of collagen and chiropractic care. Did you know collagen works as the body’s main structural protein in forming strong fibrous networks in connective tissues like skin, bones, tendons and ligaments. As we age our bodies naturally slow down production of this important protein causing joint stiffness and weaker tissues. Let’s shine some light on Vitamin D for a minute, shall we? (Do you see what I did there?) Vitamin D is often referred to as the “sunshine vitamin” due to the fact the body produces it naturally upon UVB exposure. Vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption, bone health, immune function and muscle movement. Depression, heart disease and weakened bones are all possible downsides to Vitamin D deficiency. Back pain that shoots down your leg… numbness in your arm… or that “pins and needles” feeling that won’t go away? These could be signs of a herniated disc.

A herniated disc happens when one of the discs in your spine (which act like cushions between the bones) becomes damaged and presses on nearby nerves. This pressure can cause pain, tingling, numbness, or even muscle weakness depending on where the disc is located. ()

Daylight savings time means we are one step closer to spring, however it can upset our natural circadian rhythm. This can often lead to physical symptoms that could take weeks for your body to adjust to including sleep issues, depression, anxiety and higher rates of infections and digestive disorders.

There are several ways to help combat the time change including prioritizing sun exposure within the first hour of waking, going to bed 15-20 minutes earlier, as well as limiting screen time and caffeine in the evenings.

Chiropractic adjustments can also reduce the sympathetic nervous systems "fight or flight" allowing you to relax which eases tension headaches as well as improving sleep quality during the transition period. Do you know about the importance of Omega-3 fatty acids (Fish Oil)? They are an essential building block for our bodies. They are necessary for cell growth and muscle activity. They reduce inflammation, support heart and brain health as well as regulate bodily functions like blood clotting and immune response. You can incorporate Omega-3s naturally by consuming fatty fish (salmon, sardines and tuna), shellfish (mussels, oysters and crab) or seeds (flaxseeds and chia seeds). Walnuts and some oils (Flaxseed and canola) are also another common source. Our Story

From Dr. Kauffman: "I became a chiropractor because I hurt my back playing tennis in high school (to the point I could barely walk). I remember laying on a bench for about an hour after my match until I was helped into the back seat of my parents’ car. I was taken directly to the chiropractor and was evaluated and treated right away. I hobbled into the chiropractor’s office and walked out about 80 percent better. After a few more adjustments I was back on the court.

It seemed like a miracle how well chiropractic care worked for me. I knew I wanted to help people the way I was helped. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to help people get out of pain and live healthier with all-natural chiropractic care, without the use of drugs or surgery."
