🎥 Athletes and the Expression of Ligaments with Jon Zahourek

In this classic Anatomy Insights clip, Jon explores how ligaments reveal themselves through movement—especially in athletes. Being “limber” isn’t just about flexibility; it’s about the delicate balance between stability and mobility that ligaments provide to our joints.

Ligaments act as strong connective bands that stabilize joints and guide movement, helping prevent excessive motion that could lead to injury.

That balance is exactly what occupational therapists work with every day.

April is National Occupational Therapy Month, a time to recognize practitioners, students, and educators who help people regain independence and improve quality of life through purposeful movement and functional rehabilitation. Through an understanding of anatomy—like the role ligaments play in joint stability—OT professionals help patients return to the activities that matter most.

👐 From the athletic field to everyday life, anatomy knowledge supports better movement, recovery, and independence.

▶️ Watch the clip and explore the anatomy behind movement.

👐 Celebrating National Occupational Therapy Month 👐

April is National Occupational Therapy Month, a time to recognize the incredible work occupational therapists do to help people regain movement, independence, and confidence in everyday life.

From recovering after injury to adapting to new physical challenges, occupational therapists rely on a deep understanding of functional anatomy—especially how joints move, stabilize, and support everyday actions.

At Anatomy in Clay® Learning System, we believe hands-on learning leads to deeper understanding. Using our ARTHROLOGIK™ Joint Models, students and clinicians can clearly visualize joint structure, range of motion, and the mechanics that influence movement and rehabilitation. This kind of interactive learning helps bridge the gap between anatomy knowledge and real-world patient care.

Thank you to all occupational therapists who help patients rebuild strength, restore function, and improve quality of life every day.
