In this interactive session, participants will explore the musculoskeletal anatomy of the knee by building its key structures—bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons—using clay and skeletal models. This tactile activity helps attendees visualize how the joint functions while deepening understanding of movement and stability.

The session will also highlight common knee injuries and practical approaches to injury prevention, making it valuable for CTE health science educators at both secondary and postsecondary levels.

Don’t miss this hands-on workshop today, December 10th, from 3:00–3:45 PM, led by longtime educator and Anatomy In Clay® Master Instructor Carolyn Hess.

👋 Workshop: Building Elbow Anatomy: Muscles, Tendons, and Tommy John Surgery

In this interactive session, participants will build the muscles and tendons of the elbow using clay and skeletal models—experiencing firsthand how structure and function come together in this pivotal joint. Attendees will also explore the anatomy behind Tommy John injuries and surgeries, including causes, treatment, and prevention.

About Carolyn:
Carolyn Hess is a lifelong educator with 25 years of high school life science teaching experience in Texas. She holds an MS in Biology from UT Arlington and currently teaches online Anatomy & Physiology and Biology courses for Keiser University and Southeastern College. Carolyn lives in Avoca, Texas, with her partner and brings her deep expertise and passion for experiential learning to every session she leads.

The 71st Annual American Association of Equine Practitioners Convention wrapped up today in Denver, and it was an exciting week for the equine community. 🎉 A special highlight was seeing the EQUIKEN® model featured at the booth, where Debranne Pattillo and her team continued their tradition of advancing equine bodywork education and hands-on learning.

Their presence at AAEP is always a valuable contribution, offering practitioners a deeper, tactile understanding of equine anatomy through innovative tools like the EQUIKEN® model. 🐴

A great week for equine professionals, learning, and collaboration. Congrats to Debranne and the entire Equinology team on another successful showing at AAEP! 🌟
