This therapy group will teach coping skills that will help participants learn ways to increase healthy self-care strategies and reduce mental health symptoms. Each group session combines therapeutic self-soothing strategies. Stress interventions will include affirmations, breathing techniques, meditation, visualization, self-hypnosis, grounding techniques, use of essential oils, healing music, journaling, EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), mindfulness skills, and other holistic mind-body-spirit tools. Stress management literature and resources will also be provided. Some exercises may include sitting on the floor using large floor mats, but accommodations will be available for those with mobility issues. Please come wearing comfortable stretchy clothing. You may also want to bring a journal and something to drink. Due to COVID-19 health guidelines, participants must wear masks during the group. Group is limited to no more than 10 participants and social distancing practices will be followed. This mental health therapy group is led by a licensed psychotherapist and may be covered by your insurance. Self-pay fee is $25.00 per session. OUR GROUP
We are an open and ongoing support group that allows people age 16 and older to join anytime. This group is for men and women who are contemplating weight loss/bariatric surgery, or for those who are pre-operative and will soon be having surgery and those who are post-operative regardless of the amount of time since surgery. To provide emotional support and education to assist with all of the lifestyle changes that go along with obtaining the tool of surgery.

OUR LEADERS (Lisa Breisch, Psy.D. & Donald M.)
Both Lisa and Don had bariatric surgery and have been plus size their entire lives. Dr. Lisa specializes in helping others with self-esteem, body image, and healthy behaviors. Don has been a leader of WLS support groups both in person and on-line. Both are passionate about helping others succeed with their surgery without complications or setbacks. Lisa and Don believe that psychological factors are a major component of the healing process once a person has the tool of a new stomach.
