ISO: Therapy Horse for Adaptive Riding Program

Our program is looking to add a new equine partner to our herd! We are seeking a kind, steady, confidence-building horse who can help support riders of all abilities.

✨ Ideal Horse:

Age: 10+

Height: 14–15 hh

Breed Type: Draft cross preferred (but will consider others with the right temperament!)

Soundness: Must be serviceably sound for walk/trot/canter and pass flexion tests. Maintenance ok.

Training: Solid under saddle with good basics and a willingness to learn

✨ Temperament & Characteristics We’re Looking For:

Exceptionally calm, patient, and unflappable

Comfortable with mounting blocks, sidewalkers, adaptive tack, and varied rider needs

A true steady-eddy — not reactive, startle-prone, or overly forward

Enjoys and seeks out human interaction; kind, gentle, and people-oriented

Comfortable with sensory equipment (balls, cones, props, noise)

Good with frequent transitions, stopping/standing quietly, and working in groups

Sure-footed, balanced, with a strong back and able to carry themselves safely with different riders

A horse who genuinely enjoys a quiet routine and thrives in a calm, structured environment

We provide a loving, professional home with excellent care, regular vet/farrier, and a program built around respect for our horses’ well-being.
