First aid care is not a substitute for veterinary care, but it may save your pet's life until you can get them to the nearest veterinary facility. Having a first aid kit on hand for your pet will help you feel prepared when the need to use one arises, below we have listed some basic supplies to keep on hand.
Bandaging : Gauze pads & rolls, vet wrap, medical tape.
Cleaning & Wound Care: Saline wound wash, saline eye wash, antiseptic wipes, topical antibiotic ointment.
Tools: Bandage scissors, digital thermometer (for re**al use), tweezers, syringe or eye dropper, large towel or blanket.
Extra Items : Muzzle **use caution in short nosed breeds and never muzzle a pet that is vomiting!**, disposable gloves, instant cold pack, styptic powder.
❗️Always be sure to have a list of important phone numbers! (Your veterinarian, emergency hospital, poison control, etc)
