Making a Difference
-Testimonials from parents and care givers of High Point Village participants.

“High Point Village has given my daughter a place to be involved and to really have fun while she grows and learns. I have watched her evolve from a shy and awkward girl in social activities into a happy little socialite. We are forever grateful!“
-Jaime Cruse

“We feel so blessed to have found High Point Village for our 15-year-old daughter. This is a wonderful environment for her to develop new interests, skills and friendships. We have been so impressed with the genuine excitement and joy the staff and volunteers express in their involvement with the students. We have nothing like this in our area and feel it is well worth the time and expense to make the 180 mile round trip to bring Delaney to High Point Village each week”
-Sherry Gray

“You are making a difference. You are changing people’s lives everyday in ways you don’t even know.”
-J.W.

“High Point Village has strengthened our daughter, Riane’s skills and confidence. We have no living relatives in town but the friendships that have been built and nurtured here have grown into an extended family. To have a community she can live in with her extended family is just a bonus.”
-Patty Deaton

“My son David has Down syndrome. So this “village” has made him to continue to thrive in something which we thought he needed. It gives him somewhere to go and meet other people like him. High Point Village has been such a blessing.”
-J.Luna

“High Point Village is literally a God sent miracle for our daughter, Lauren, who has Down Syndrome. With limited facilities, High Point Village has broadened Lauren’s horizons and enriched her life with new friendships and experiences. Without the vision and commitment of those who make High Point Village possible, Lauren’s quality of life would be significantly diminished. We thank you for your love and support.”

Lily has been working at High Point Village for over 3 years and is in charge of the lovely Villager-made candles! She leads our candle crew with excellence, but what makes Lily so special is her heart. She is deeply intentional about creating a classroom where every villager feels seen, known, and loved.

We are incredibly grateful for the care and joy Lily brings to High Point Village each day! 👏

April is Autism Awareness Month, and today we celebrate Autism Awareness Day! 🎉

Our Villagers with autism inspire us every single day with their creativity, determination, and joyful spirit. Their smiles and laughter truly light up High Point Village and those they interact with daily!

We are proud to support, uplift, and champion each of our Villagers as they grow, thrive, and reach their fullest potential 🌟

Before the month of March comes to a close, we want to celebrate National Social Work month! This year’s theme, “Uplift. Defend. Transform.,” perfectly reflects the impact our Social Services Director, Natalie Hendrix has on High Point!

Natalie consistently uplifts our Villagers, their families, and the IDD community through her compassion and dedication. She is also a fierce advocate, who works to defend and support those she serves. Through her efforts, she truly transforms lives every single day! ✨

Natalie can help you and your family navigate your loved one’s special needs benefits, no matter their age. She also provides education on the various benefits and entitlements available to you and your loved one—helping create peace of mind and stability both now and in the future. Natalie assists with Medicaid waivers, guardianship, Special Needs Trusts, SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, and mental health support.

We are incredibly grateful to have Natalie Hendrix as such an inspiring and committed leader at High Point Village! 💙

First up on our Staff Spotlight is Joshua Kuhnley, aka Coach Josh! 💪

Coach Josh has been working at High Point Village for almost 2 years and has taken our fitness program to a whole new level. Bringing his experience as a personal trainer, Josh has helped our villagers improve their mobility, build strength, and gain confidence through movement. He often says "Movement is Medicine" which is a staple statement said among the Villagers.

Not only has he elevated our fitness program, but he has also strengthened our Special Olympics participation and enthusiasm! We are so thankful for everything Coach Josh brings to High Point Village! 👏
