Most people only think about food when they think about blood sugar.

But stress can affect it too and that catches a lot of people off guard. Stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline signal your body to release extra sugar into your bloodstream for quick energy.

No food required.

You can be doing everything right with food and still feel stuck.

The encouraging part is you can work with your body instead of fighting it.

Try to apply these habits:

• Take a 10 minute walk after stressful moments.
It helps your muscles use that extra sugar instead of letting it sit in your blood.

• Breathe like it matters, because it does.
Try this: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 6. Do it 5 times.

• Eat consistently.
Skipping meals can make stress responses stronger and spike blood sugar later.

• Protect your sleep.
Even one poor night can raise stress hormones the next day.

• Build calm breaks into your day.
Not when life slows down. Before it spirals. Even 2 minutes helps.

Your body is not broken. It may be responding to stress exactly the way it was built to. That’s why supporting your blood sugar is not just about food.

Start with one small shift today.

And as always, talk with your doctor before making any changes or if something feels off. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

You do not have to conquer the whole week today.
You just have to take care of the moment you’re in.
And that is enough.
Small moments matter more than we give them credit for.

POV: You walk in and your team is locked in.

Honestly, though, this is LCHC in a nutshell.
We work hard, take care of our patients, and occasionally unite for very important decisions… like what everyone’s Starbucks order should be.

What is your usual coffee order?

A lot of people use insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes like they mean the same thing… but they are not.

Insulin resistance is often the early warning stage. Your body is still making insulin, but it has to work harder and harder to keep up.

Type 2 diabetes is what can happen when your body can’t keep compensating anymore and blood sugar starts staying high.

The encouraging part?
Insulin resistance can often be improved with the right support, habits, and early action.

If you’re under 45, this is something most people your age are brushing off…and it matters more than you think.

Colorectal cancer is rising in younger adults, and many people who are diagnosed say the same thing:

“I didn’t think it was anything serious.”

Not because they ignored their health but because the symptoms felt normal.

Here’s what often gets dismissed:
-Ongoing fatigue that doesn’t improve with rest
-Changes in bowel habits like constipation, urgency, or thinner stools
-Blood in the stool (often blamed on hemorrhoids)
-Bloating that sticks around
-Unexplained weight loss

None of these automatically mean cancer, but brushing them off can delay getting real answers.

You are not too young to take this seriously. Screening does more than detect cancer. It can help prevent it by finding and removing polyps early.

Getting checked is not overreacting. It is being proactive about your health.
