Stress is a factor that can negatively impact hair health, contributing to hair loss. When a person experiences high levels of stress, the body produces hormones such as cortisol, which can affect hair follicles. This can lead to conditions such as alopecia areata, where hair falls out in patches, or telogen effluvium, which results in widespread hair loss. In addition, stress can aggravate pre-existing problems such as dandruff, creating a damaging cycle. It is critical to find ways to manage stress, whether through meditation, exercise or activities that relax you. Taking care of your mental health is key to maintaining strong, healthy hair.
