The pages of this book began for Mary Doris Richardson Robinson on July 19, 1944 in Lubbock County, Texas to the parentage of MD Richardson and Ocie Lee Henson.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church. She later married Willie Earl Robinson. She was employed by Texas Instruments. She later moved to Dallas, Texas for several years and returned to Lubbock in March 2025.

She is preceded in death by her parents MD Richardson and Ocie Lee Henson, spouse Willie Earl Robinson, brothers Edgar Toliver, Jr, Leon Love, sisters Regina Love Turner, Dolla Love Cunningham, Emma Love Cravin, and Emma Love James.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one son Vernon Love, two brothers Eddie Love (Shawneequa) and Lewis Love, one very special niece Denerie Owens (Wendell) and brother-in-law Roy Cravin, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Elder Alton Graves, 66 passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025. The Viewing will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10 am to 11 am at First Baptist Church, located at 401 Houston Street, Levelland, Texas and Homegoing Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 from 5 pm to 6 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Elder Alton Graves was born on March 17, 1959, in Tahoka, Texas, to Shirley Gene (Brown) Graves and Tommy Lee Graves. From an early age, he accepted Christ and began a lifelong journey of faith marked by service, humility, and deep devotion to God and His people. He was a proud graduate of Tahoka High School, Class of 1978.

A gifted and dynamic drummer, Alton used his musical talents to uplift and inspire congregations wherever he served. His passion for worship extended far beyond music, as he answered the call to ministry at a young age. He began his ministry under the late W. T. Thomas at Trinity Church of God in Christ in Levelland, Texas. He later faithfully served as an elder and adjutant for the Texas Northwest Jurisdiction under the leadership of the late Bishop William H. Watson II.

Following his calling, Alton began pastoring Loving Chapel in Tahoka, Texas. Through his leadership, compassion, and commitment to ministry, he made a lasting impact on the lives of those he served. His heart for service extended beyond the church, as he also dedicated himself to public service. Alton proudly served as City Councilman for District B in Levelland, Texas, from 1992 to 2003. During his tenure, he served on various boards for the City of Levelland, always working to uplift his community and improve the lives of others.

On February 22, 2010, Alton married Berlinda Ward. He later relocated to Pearland, Texas, where he continued to walk faithfully in his calling and serve God with the same dedication and purpose that defined his life. He became a devoted member of Island of Hope Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Prince Bryant Sr., where he served with consistency, humility, and love, remaining committed to ministry until his passing.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Gene (Brown) Graves and Tommy Lee Graves, and his brothers, Tommy Lewis Graves and Rickie Lynn Graves.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Berlinda Ward-Graves; his sons, Antoine Graves and Alston Graves (Luisa) of Levelland; his daughters, Sheila Martin of Lubbock and NaKeshia Bibbs (Chance) of San Antonio; seven grandchildren, Kiahra, Hailey, Zyion, Zekai, Tatiyana, Chance Jr., and Kennedy; and two great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Miranda. He is also survived by his brothers, Tony Graves, David Graves (Joann), and Calvin Graves (Darcy); his sister, Michelle Risher (Avery); along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Alton Graves will be remembered as a faithful servant of God, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a man whose life reflected service, worship, leadership, and genuine love for others. His legacy continues through the many lives he touched and the communities he faithfully served.

Tommie Lucille Ervin, 86, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025. Celebration of Life Service to be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11 am at Church of the Nations. On August 12, 1939 in Lubbock Texas Tommie Lucille Watson was born to Thomas and Edna Watson.

Tommie Lucille was a special child, a giver, a hard worker and a strong example of integrity even at an early age.

Tommie Lucille gave her life to Christ at an early age.

As a young mother she served her children, her church, Lyons Chapel Baptist church under the direction of the late, Reverend OD Hollins.

She was the Director over the Youth department, sang in the choir and lead the outreach and homeless ministry as well as a Youth Sunday school teacher. Tommie Lucille lead with love and integrity willing to work where ever needed.

She currently served as the Pastors Aid to her pastor, Ronnie D. Pegues at Triumph Missionary Baptist church in Slaton Texas .

As a young divorced mother of six beautiful children, Tommie Lucille prayed and asked God to send her a Man that would love her and her children.

God in His infinite Wisdom would reach all the way to Shreveport Louisiana for such a Man. Tommie Lucille and Tommie Claude Ervin and the fearless six, would enter into the union of Holy matrimony on June 16, 1969.

While both holding individual careers, would start a family business, T&T Enterprises, where Tommie Lucille would excel as a top sales woman for companies such as Amway, Atlanta Life Insurance, Legal Shield and others becoming a city wide icon in sales. Tommie Lucille could sale anything to anybody.

Tommie Lucille was also well know for her amazing cooking and baking skills. Her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews would often request their individual cakes, pies and pastries.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edna Watson, her brother Melvin Watson, three sisters, Erma Jean Ashlock, Gloria Walker and Otha Dean Watson. Her son, Allen Gant, Her grandson, Steven Christopher Gambles II, and her great-granddaughter, Aniyah Allen.

She leaves to honor and cherish her legacy, her loving husband of 56 years, Reverend Tommie Claud Ervin, her sons, Stevie Manahan (Barbara), Tony L Gant (Darnetta) and Pastor Tory L Gant (Pastor Rita). Her daughters Brenda Gant Ussery, and Phyllis Gant Gambles. 11 grandsons, Steve Andreas Manahan, Mike Vargas, Raymond Oliver, Antwain D. Gant, Rodrick Gant, Brandon Wooten Gant, Marcus A. Gambles, Daven Gant, Alton Gant, Justice Gant, and Jireh Gant. 6 Granddaughters, Stephanie Manahan, Chelsea Manahan, TiAmber Josey-Vargas, Erica Oliver, Bralee Gant, and Miracle Gant. 17 Great-grandchildren, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews Business partners and friends.

Rochel M. Jackson, 68, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 1 pm at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Rochel M. Jackson was born on October 10, 1957, to Mary H. Jackson. He graduated from Estacado High School in 1976.

Rochel later started his own lawn business, inspired by the work ethic and influence of his grandfather. What began as a passion grew into Jackson & Jackson Lawn Service, a business he proudly operated for many years and through which he became well known for his dedication and hard work.

Rochel began his faith journey at Greenlawn Church of Christ, where he became a devoted member. As his spiritual walk continued, he later joined New Generation Community Church, where he remained connected in fellowship and faith.

Rochel met and later married his beloved wife, Ola Horton Jackson, with whom he shared his life and family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary H. Jackson; his grandfather, Howard Jackson Sr.; his sons, Byron Horton and Andrew Horton; his sister, Margie Jackson; and his brother, Cecil Jackson.

Linda “Lillie” Jean Green was born on September 28, 1959, with a midwife at home in Lubbock TX, to Bobbie Jean Willis and Joe Edward Dial. She was the oldest of all the siblings. She was dedicated early at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She continued her faith in God until life.

Linda attended school at New Life Polytechnic High School, where she participated in basketball camp, tee ball, and other school activities.

She did solar rolling in Fort Worth Texas Popular Skating rink where dancers honored their skill for Soul Train, and she had to use her skill by dancing for Soul Train. She continued her life in Compton, California until a life change with sickness with hormones brought her back to Lubbock, TX. She began working as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and she was an amazing worker. She took care of her residents as if they were her own family. She went way beyond her job duties. She enjoyed having a good time, she loved music, dancing, and being around family.

Linda is preceded in death by her mother Bobbie Jean Willis Sneed, grandparents Pauline and Joseph Dial, grandfather Zebedee Parish, her grandmother Connie Bee, uncle Dub, and grandchildren Alexis K. Bates

Pedro “Pete” Herrera was a devoted son, father, grandfather, mentor, coach, and proud American patriot whose life was defined by service to his country, his family, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Born on December 31, 1958, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Pete was the son of David Herrera and Manuela Hernandez Herrera. From an early age, Pete learned the value of hard work and perseverance while working alongside his father on farms and ranches throughout Tahoka, Post, and Lorenzo, Texas.

Pete attended high school in Lorenzo, Texas, and following high school answered the call to serve the country he loved so deeply by enlisting in the United States Navy. A true war hero, Pete served honorably in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He later continued his service as a reservist during Operation Iraqi Freedom, including service with Special Operations, SEAL, and Navy teams in Afghanistan. Pete loved America with his whole heart and fought bravely for the freedoms and values in which he believed. His service was not just a duty, it was an honor he carried with pride.

In his professional life, Pete worked as a skilled maintenance engineer and contractor, known for his reliability, problem-solving skills, and strong work ethic.

Beyond his military service and professional career, Pete’s greatest joy was pouring into others. He was a loving and generous man, known for his big heart, loyalty, and unwavering support of his family and friends. Pete was a great friend to many.

Pete was especially proud to coach his sons and countless other young men in football and boxing. A natural mentor, he invested deeply in the lives of youth, and many of the young men he guided continue to look up to him today.

A founder of the Matador Training Center, Pete created a place of purpose and opportunity where young men and women trained in boxing and martial arts. With gyms in East and North Lubbock, Pete took pride in helping our youth to build character, community, and hope.
Pete was preceded in death by his mother, Manuela Hernandez Herrera, his grandchild, Andrew Peter Herrera, nephew Stevie Ramirez, and brother in-laws Jesse Ramirez and Ray Lucio.

He is survived by his father, David Herrera of Corpus Christi; his sons, Caesare Yness Herrera of Lubbock, Ira Thomas Herrera of Lubbock, and Shawn Duggan Gould of San Angelo; his siblings Patty Ramirez of Lubbock, Norma Jean Herrera (Jesse Calzada) of Lorenzo, Silvestre Herrera (Alva) of Phoenix, Arizona, Renee Herrera of Lubbock, and Delia Garcia of Corpus Christi; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will forever carry his legacy forward.

Pete Herrera lived a life of courage, compassion, and service. He gave selflessly and loved deeply. May we all strive to live a life like Pete’s, one rooted in love, honor, and service.

Marvin Taylor, 81, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm at Griffin Mortuary. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Marvin Taylor, son of the late Edward and Inez Sanders-Taylor. Marvin was born in Bryan, Texas on August 5, 1944, and moved to Lubbock, Texas, later on in his life.

Marvin started his career at the “oil mill” where many Lubbockites were employed. Later he became a self-employed carpenter and a very good one. His work was known from Lubbock all the way down to Odessa, Texas.

Marvin loved fishing, dancing and singing. Marvin was a joyful person and was an avid collector of baseball caps. He was known by many in the community by several names; “Starvin’ Marvin”, or “Crip”.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bobby, his daughter Carol Taylor, three brothers; J.L. Taylor, Howard Taylor, Wendell Taylor and two sisters; Alice Jordan, Dorthy Jean Mitchell.

He is survived by his two; Amy (Charlie) Cleveland, Lakeisa Taylor; both of Odessa, Texas. His beloved grandchildren; Marcus Perkins, Releya Hernandez, Todd Taylor, Tyrek Perkins, Randall Moore, Kay’Lynn Taylor, AlFrenezia Walker, Daquan, Patterson, and his great-grandchildren; Aniah Perkins, Yuri Perkins, Nasir Perkins, Marcus Perkins III. Four sisters; Fredi (late George Coleman) Dime Box, Texas, Bobbie (Calvin) Baldwin of College Station, Texas, twin sister Margaret (Glen) Stevenson, Beverly (late Jack) Bozeman of Lubbock, Texas. Anna Lois Walters, 69, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025. Celebration of Life Service was held Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 11 am at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Anna Lois Walters was born December 4, 1956 to Mary Hall and Cornell Howard. She was adopted by Beatrice and John Walters. She attended Roosevelt High School and was very proud of her Human Resources degree from University of North Texas.

Anna never met a stranger, she was kind to everyone she met. She had many friends from all walks of life. She worked with her son, Elbert at Information Unlimited and AT&T and worked closely with her daughter-in-law, Meagan, at AT&T. They had a lot of fun and laughs.

Anna had an abundance of friends she considered family and loved our Lord Jesus Christ. Anna passed away from natural causes on December 8, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her mother Beatrice Walters and her father John Walters.

He is survived by his devoted wife Frances, nine children Mary Jane, Romeo, Jesse, Robert, Nancy, Amy, Claudia, Lydia, and Irma, nineteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed to share in his life.

He was known for his endless jokes, warm laughter, a hard worker, always being at the flea market and his remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel loved and valued.

He has now joined his sisters, Mickaela and Mary, and his brothers, Felix and Raul, his great grandbaby but most importantly his beloved son and daughter, Clarissa and Rey. Though he will be deeply missed, his joyful spirit, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Charles Ray Wall Sr., born on March 6, 1953, in Lockney, Texas, passed away on November 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and love for his family. He was the eldest child of Robert and Rosie Wall, and from a young age he carried the responsibility and pride that often accompanies being the firstborn. Charles grew up alongside his siblings— Judy, Patricia, Gloria, Jackie, Martha, Robert Jr., Tyrone, and Jimmy —forming bonds rooted in love.

Throughout his life, Charles was a man dedicated to providing for those he loved. He spent most of his years in Floydada, Texas, working on a farm, where he built a reputation for his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet determination—qualities that shaped both his livelihood and his character.

Charles first married Joyce Wall, and together they welcomed two children: his eldest daughter, Lavern Wall, and his only son, Charles Ray Wall Jr. Later, he met Lorene Burleson, with whom he shared two more daughters, Bridgette Burleson and Yolanda Burleson. His children were a source of pride, joy, and purpose throughout his life. Including his 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Those who knew Charles will remember him for his Loud presence, his willingness to help others, and the genuine love he carried into every relationship. His family, friends, and the community that surrounded him mourn his passing and celebrate the life of a strong man who lived for the moment.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rosie Wall, and his beloved eldest daughter, Lavern Wall. A niece, great-niece and a nephew.

Those who knew Charles will remember him for his quiet strength, generosity, and the warmest smile. His passing leaves a profound void, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, special friend Donna , and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
