Who remembers when your pharmacy had a soda fountain?
You'd walk in, the pharmacist knew your name, and you might sit down for a Coke while you waited. It wasn't complicated. It was just local.
We don't have a soda fountain at Kitch. We've traded the sugar for supplements and functional labs — probably a better move for everyone involved.
But the thing that made those old pharmacies special? That hasn't changed here. We know our patients. We answer the phone. You can walk in and actually talk to someone who's going to take the time to listen.
Lubbock knows what local means. We try to live that out every single day.

I thought I'd share a funny story. I was helping a patient in the store the other day when another one of our patients walks in. They clearly knew each other. The one walking in goes, "I know I'm getting old when I run into my friends at the pharmacy of all places."

I laughed. But honestly? That's one of my favorite things about what we do here.

People run into each other at Kitch. They know us. We know them. It's not a drive-through window and a "have a nice day."

Healthcare can feel like it's working against you sometimes — the insurance runarounds, the 15-minute appointments, the feeling like you're just a number.

We wanted to build something different. A pharmacy where running into your friend isn't weird — it just makes sense.

That's what being local actually means.

To be completely honest, we don’t want to be a pharmacy that only dispenses medication. Sometimes, a person’s health and wellness requires more attention and detail than just a pill. It requires a relationship, and that’s what we’re here for. That's one of the cool things about being a local independent pharmacy.
