The latest class of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates in the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing at the teaching site were honored with a lamp lighting ceremony this summer. The tradition pays homage to Florence Nightingale, considered the mother and pioneer of nursing, staying up late at night checking on ailing soldiers in the hospital.

🏆 Caitlyn Jacobs received the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center Methodist Shines Award.

🏆 Chardanae Talton and Taylor Hodde received Excellence in Nursing Development Awards.

“1 month late but Grand Rounds✔️” Roberto, a fourth-year “P4” student in the TTUHSC-Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy at the campus was excited to present at Grand Rounds – a major milestone for students nearing the end of pharmacy school. All four years of the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree program are offered from the Abilene, Amarillo and Dallas campuses, and the third and fourth years of the program are available in Lubbock.

This month, the latest class of traditional and accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing in Lubbock were honored with a pinning and lamp lighting ceremony. The tradition pays homage to Florence Nightingale, considered the mother and pioneer of nursing, staying up late at night checking on ailing soldiers in the hospital. The event was made possible with support from the Lubbock chapter of the Texas Nursing Students’ Association (TNSA) and UMC Health System. Each student was announced and pinned on stage by a loved one of their choosing. The ceremony closed with reciting the Nursing Oath (Nightingale Pledge) and lighting of lamps.
