The Free Clinic

The Free Clinic is a student-run initiative that offers medical services to the uninsured patrons of Lubbock, Texas.

Each week, physicians, nurses, social workers, and medical students volunteer to provide acute medical care, health education, and social resource counseling for local community health insurance programs. The mission of the Clinic is two-fold: to serve the indigent community of Lubbock and provide clinical education to TTUHSC medical students. Since opening in August of 2009, the Clinic has seen o

Hello all! The Free Clinic is happy to announce that we will be hosting our bi-annual Women's Health Day event on Saturday May 2nd, from 10am-1pm! This is a special day dedicated to the women of Lubbock, where we perform health screenings for women that include PAP smears, breast and pelvic exams, STI testing, and much more!

Unlike our normal clinic, this event is by appointment only! We encourage any woman interested in attending to call 806-370-7472 in order to make the appointment. This event is specifically for uninsured women from the ages of 18 to 64. We are excited to see everyone turn out! See the flyer below for more details.

Thanksgiving Week:
Free Clinic will be open Wednesday, November 26, 2025 (our normal clinic day).

Christmas Week:
We will have clinic on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

New Year’s Week:
We will have clinic on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Thank you so much for your interest in our Women’s Health Day on November 1st!
We’re currently fully booked for this event.

If you still need a Pap smear or mammogram (or any other service), you’re welcome to visit our Free Clinic on Wednesdays from 4–9 PM.
We operate on a first come, first served basis and no appointment is needed.

Hello everyone! We have an important announcement regarding the Free Clinic.

The Free Clinic will be open over the holidays, but with SPECIAL DAYS AND HOURS. Please see below for more details.

Christmas: The Free Clinic will be open on THURSDAY, December 26th starting at 4pm (NOT Christmas Day). Of important note: we will only be able to see 10 patients this day due to limited staffing.

New Years: The Free Clinic will be open on THURSDAY, January 2nd, starting at 4pm. We will see our normal 18 patients that day.

All other days will remain the usual: Wednesday's starting at 4pm.

Hello everyone!

As many may have heard, the TTUHSC Free Clinic at Lubbock Impact is undergoing significant renovations, beginning this week. The clinic will continue to function on Wednesday nights from 4pm-9pm, but we are losing some of our normal clinic space.

As such, we are going to have to limit the number of patients we see every night. While we previously saw 25 patients on a first-come, first-serve basis, for the foreseeable future that number will now be 18 patients on a first-come, first-serve basis. We encourage patients to come as close to 4pm as possible, as spots may fill up more quickly!

Our hours have not changed: registration begins at 4pm and continues until 7pm, until we have reached the maximum number of patients (now a total of 18). Pharmacy and social work hours have NOT changed. However, Lubbock Impact is now doing their nightly meal on Tuesday evenings. Please be aware there may not be significant food available on Wednesday evenings!

We look forward to serving you as construction begins to build a newer, better free clinic for the people of Lubbock!

Hello all! We are excited to announce our spring Women's Health Day event, which will be held on April 27th from 10am to 1pm! We offer a preventative care visit including STI testing, cervical cancer screenings, breast/colon screening referrals, and more! This event is by appointment only, for women age 18-64 who are not insured. Please call us at 806-370-7472 or email freeclinic@ttuhsc.edu to make an appointment!

An important announcement! We are pleased to report that the Lubbock Health Department will be having a vaccine clinic on March 20th outside of Lubbock Impact! If you or someone you know is in need of free vaccines, please come from 4-6pm and receive them. No appointment with the Free Clinic is needed. See y'all there!
