November marks one year since the official licensing of the birth center. Over the past twelve months, we’ve witnessed countless moments of strength, tenderness, and joy within these walls. Every family, every birth, every story has shaped this space into something truly sacred.

We’re filled with gratitude for the community that has grown around this place and look forward to celebrating together after the new year with a proper anniversary gathering.

For now, we’d love to welcome you in for a visit. Tonight is our Group Tour Night, from 5:00–6:30 p.m.

Held in Calm Amid the Rush 🤍

Meet Nolan
Born April 30, 2025

After days of working hard for active labor to come, Nolan’s mama arrived at the birth center ready to meet her baby boy. Once her water broke, things moved quickly, and within just a few short hours, she was holding her sweet son in her arms.

His birth was quick, steady, and filled with quiet strength, a reminder that sometimes everything unfolds exactly as it should. Nolan’s birth was a reminder that calm can exist even in the most bustling of moments, and that every baby arrives right on time.

Grateful to our friends at for such a beautiful evening. The food was incredible, the setting was peaceful, and the conversation filled our hearts.

Held in Big Love 💙
Kohan Richard
Born April 16, 2025 • 10 lbs 2 oz

Kohan’s birth was a powerful story of patience and joy. His mama labored with steady strength, waiting with courage for her baby boy to be ready. When the time came, his daddy reached into the water to catch him and place him into his mama’s waiting arms, a moment overflowing with love.

This first-time family embraced their journey with trust and grace, welcoming their beautiful son with open hearts. At 10 lbs 2 oz, Kohan holds the title of our biggest baby born at Held so far, joining two other little ones in this year’s ten-pound club. What a milestone to celebrate for this family and for our practice!

Kohan, your arrival is a testament to a love that grows bigger than we ever imagined. 💙

If you’ve been in the office lately, you’ve probably seen Jennifer’s kind smile and gentle presence. Jennifer has been a birth assist with the Held team while working on her schooling and we are happy to share that she’s now joining us full-time in a student midwifery role.

A mom of four, her Lubbock roots run deep and she feels right at home walking alongside families through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

As she steps into this new chapter of her midwifery journey, Jennifer is looking forward to continuing to care for Mothers and the new life they bring into the world. We’re honored to have her as part of our Held Family. 🩷

Wave of Light • In Honor of Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day

Today we remember the babies who live in our hearts.
The ones whose names we speak with love, because saying them keeps them near.
The ones we carried, even if only for a little while.

We remember the hopes that blossomed and the silence that followed.
The ache that lingers, and the love that remains.

For every parent who has known loss, this day holds space for you.
There is no right way to remember.
No single way to grieve.
Only love that endures in the way you carry them forward.

At 7 p.m., as candles are lit around the world in the Wave of Light,
we’ll light ours too.
One small flame for each life that was wanted, cherished, and loved beyond measure.

Water can be such a beautiful tool in birth. It helps ease discomfort, release tension, and create a peaceful environment as you prepare to welcome your baby.

Held in the Light of the Blue Room 💙

Welcome to the world, sweet baby girl 💗
Born March 31, 2025 at 1:01 p.m.

This little one holds a special place in our hearts as the very first baby born in the Blue Room at our birth center. Bathed in sunlight and surrounded by love, she made her way earthside in the soft glow of the afternoon.

Her family filled the morning with quiet strength walking the halls, sharing breakfast, and waiting with joy to meet their baby and learn if they had a new son or daughter. We just love surprises! Her birth story is a reminder that some of life’s greatest joys come wrapped in mystery until the very last moment.

When the time was right, she arrived with grace, marking a new beginning for both her family and our practice.

Welcome, sweet girl. The Blue Room will always carry the light of your story. 🌿

HELD through every twist and turn

Meet Zeppelin Asher 💙
Born March 28, 2025 at 12:08 a.m.

Zeppelin’s story is one of perseverance and trust. After days of prodromal labor, his mama came to the birth center ready to meet her baby. When labor brought signs that more support may be needed, the decision was made to continue at the hospital. Surrounded by her midwife, doula, and care team, his mama labored with calm strength until she welcomed her sweet boy earthside just after midnight.

Born only minutes past his twin siblings’ birthday, Zeppelin claimed his own day and his own story. His arrival is a reminder that every birth is unique, and each baby’s journey is their own.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to have walked with this family through every stage, from the earliest contractions to the tender postpartum days. At Held, our commitment to families continues no matter where their story unfolds.

HELD between chicken nuggets and giggles. 💛

Meet Alia
Born March 26, 2025

This beautiful family joined us later in their pregnancy after moving to Texas, and we are so thankful their journey led them here. With no local support for their older girls, the whole family came to the birth center together.

This is one of our favorite labor stories. Dad was soothing the youngest, trying to get her down to rest, while big sister splashed and laughed with Mom in the birth tub. Not long after getting big sister out of the tub, little sister Alia made her entrance.

Mama was the picture of calm and control, rocking her labor with such grace. We all laughed when we realized she had been eating chicken nuggets just minutes before feeling the urge to push, and then brought her baby into the world with ease.

Alia, your birth was filled with joy, love, and laughter from start to finish. We are so honored to have been part of this special day. Welcome, sweet girl.
