Meet Edaline
Born June 1, 2025

Edaline’s birth was a beautiful reminder of what can unfold when courage rises and fear is gently surrendered. After days of stop-and-start labor, her mama listened closely to her body, and when things finally shifted, they moved with gentle certainty. The birth team arrived at their home only a short time before Edaline made her quick entrance into the world.

Her big siblings were a shining part of her story, sharing birth affirmations they had made for their mama, offering hands to hold, and helping get the tub just right. Their excitement and tenderness filled the room with such sweetness, especially as they waited to discover whether their new sibling would be a boy or a girl.

Edaline surprised everyone by arriving on her daddy’s birthday, making the day forever shared and even more meaningful.

Meet Ezra Anthony
Born May 29, 2025
7lbs 1oz • 19.75 inches

Ezra’s arrival was as joyful as it was quick. His mama was one of the first families to use the shared contraction timer app, sending us real time updates while she labored at home. As we watched her contractions grow closer together, something in our hearts said to start getting the Blue Room ready. The inflatable tub takes a while to prepare, but the moment we saw those patterns, we knew we needed to get it blown up and filled.

Not long after, Caroline called to say that Ezra’s parents were on their way and things were moving fast. We met them at the door, and it was clear their baby boy was not far behind. Their oldest was able to be part of the labor in those early, exciting moments, making the evening even sweeter for this growing family.

The room was ready, the tub was warm, and Ezra was born less than an hour after their arrival, surrounded by joy, support, and so much love.

Ezra’s birth was quick, bright, and full of energy, a reminder that sometimes babies know exactly when it is time.

Welcome, Ezra Anthony. You brought joy with you from the very first moment. 💙

🤍 Held Through Prayer

Meet Eden Mae

Eden’s journey began with quiet, powerful intention. The week she was born, while her Mama was in early labor, a small group came to the birth center to pray over the space and the families who would soon fill it. Their words of blessing settled over the rooms where Eden’s story began.

As labor unfolded, clear guidance and calm discernment led her parents to continue her birth at the hospital. Even in a new setting, their vision and their values remained steady. With incredible support surrounding them, Eden’s dad still had the honor of catching his daughter, a moment that meant so much to them.

Eden’s parents also carried one of their most meaningful plans with them into the hospital. They shared communion together with their birth support team during labor, a beautiful expression of faith and unity that brought peace into the room in a powerful way.

When their chiropractor, Dr. Elizabeth, arrived to adjust Eden’s mama in labor, she remarked on how peaceful the birth space felt, saying she had never seen a hospital birth space quite like that. Love, advocacy, and prayer shaped every part of Eden’s arrival, creating a birth that was deeply meaningful in its own way.

Eden’s birth is a reminder that peace and prayer can carry families through the unexpected with grace.

November marks one year since the official licensing of the birth center. Over the past twelve months, we’ve witnessed countless moments of strength, tenderness, and joy within these walls. Every family, every birth, every story has shaped this space into something truly sacred.

We’re filled with gratitude for the community that has grown around this place and look forward to celebrating together after the new year with a proper anniversary gathering.

This first-time family embraced their journey with trust and grace, welcoming their beautiful son with open hearts. At 10 lbs 2 oz, Kohan holds the title of our biggest baby born at Held so far, joining two other little ones in this year’s ten-pound club. What a milestone to celebrate for this family and for our practice!

If you’ve been in the office lately, you’ve probably seen Jennifer’s kind smile and gentle presence. Jennifer has been a birth assist with the Held team while working on her schooling and we are happy to share that she’s now joining us full-time in a student midwifery role.

A mom of four, her Lubbock roots run deep and she feels right at home walking alongside families through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

As she steps into this new chapter of her midwifery journey, Jennifer is looking forward to continuing to care for Mothers and the new life they bring into the world. We’re honored to have her as part of our Held Family. 🩷
