Dry needling targets trigger points: tight, knotted spots in your muscles that cause local pain and often refer pain to other areas. Using thin filiform needles (similar to acupuncture but with a different approach), the muscle is stimulated to release tension, improve blood flow, and reset – fast.
Here’s what a typical dry needling session looks like,
🪡 A thin needle is inserted into the trigger point
⚡ You may feel a brief muscle twitch response (that’s a good sign)
🔌 The area may be connected to a mild electrical current to help relieve the muscle spasm and reset the muscle’s rest/contract state
😮💨 Many patients feel an immediate release of tension
To finish, you’ll be given strengthening exercises specific to the injured area to help fully restore and support the muscle group.
