TTU Intern site visits this week started off with a road trip to Gorman, TX! Dr. Chapman visited intern Shelly Grissom and her site supervisor Dr. Hailey Frazier at East End Education Co-Op, which serves 5 rural school districts. We love seeing our students out in the field building capacity for student support in our rural West Texas communities! ❤️🖤

It's a synchronous class weekend! School psychology students met online for Dr. Stevens's counseling interventions class yesterday afternoon, and logged in bright and early this morning for Dr. Barbre's consultation class. This semester, they are directly applying course content to their practicum experiences and professional practice!

The next stop for our intern site visits this week was Prosper ISD! Dr. Chapman dropped in to see TTU intern Lillian Meier and her supervisor Dr. Kristine Rodriguez. Prosper ISD has been incredibly supportive of our profession as well as the mental and behavioral support of their students. They now have 31 school psychologists to serve their 31 campuses, which is an incredible ratio! Way to go, Prosper ISD! 🎉

Congratulations to Dr. Jerrod Eby on the successful defense of his dissertation titled “Psychological Services in Schools: Parents as Gateway Providers, Mental Health Literacy, and the Effect of Authoritarianism.” Dr. Eby currently supports students as a school psychologist in Plano ISD. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for him! ❤️🖤

It’s that time of year again! Dr. Chapman is making her way across Texas visiting our 2025-2026 interns and supervisors across the state. This round of visits started off today with a visit to Wylie ISD with TTU Intern Nikki Lewis-Anderson and her supervisor Dr. Amanda Jackson-Rohrbach. Wylie ISD is a growing district with 5 school psychologists (plus our intern) working hard to serve students and their families in the DFW area!

Congratulations to Christopher Ponce on the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation today! We anticipate some great future initiatives coming from his work, titled “Beyond One-Size-Fits-All: Analysis of Supervision Experiences Among School Psychologists.” Great work, Dr. Ponce! 🎉

Our first-year TTU school psychology students are back in Lubbock for in-person classes this weekend! This large cohort of 16 is kicking off the weekend with Dr. Chapman’s Ethics, Standards, and Best Practices class this evening!

We are a little over a month into the Fall 2025 semester, and our newest cohort is one of the largest groups we've had in recent years! This dynamic group brings a wealth of experience across disciplines within and outside of education. We are thrilled to have them with us and look forward to seeing their school psychology skills develop over the next three years!

TTU School Psychology doctoral candidate, Ugochi Iwuji, recently presented a poster at . Her preliminary data demonstrated her work training teachers in Nigeria via telehealth and Behavioral Skills Training. Ugochi demonstrated that this virtual training, which equips teachers with evidence-based interventions for students with autism spectrum disorder, is an effective means of training teachers in under-resourced areas of Nigeria.
