This month, our classes have been full of stars, space, and moon adventures — but we’ve also been working on something just as important: waiting!

Here are a few snapshots of our little learners practicing stopping, waiting, and playing. We used music to guide us as we listened carefully for when the sound would start and stop.

Activities like these are a playful (and powerful) way to build listening skills, impulse control, and the ability to pause before jumping into action. Music makes practicing these big skills feel fun, natural, and engaging — and these kids have been doing such a great job!

Ask your little learner to show you the signs for stop, wait, and play — they’ve been practicing!

Welcome to Sing! Play! Learn! My name is Beth Lindley and I am passionate about early childhood education and music. I am a certified teacher, and I have fifteen years of experience with early childhood education in both public and private schools. Teaching music to preschoolers combines my love of music and early childhood education!

What To Expect: Singing, Dancing, Finger Plays, Rhymes, Chants, Instruments, Puppets, Music Games and Pretend Play.
