🎶MUSIC STIRS THE SOUL AT LMSL🎶

On a beautiful afternoon last week, musician Steve Berkemeier of Jackson, Michigan entertained each of the four homes with memorable tunes from the past. Residents and visitors were treated to this special concert.

As a regular visitor to Lake Michigan Senior Living, Steve calls LMSL one of his favorite venues of over 400 performances last year. Stay tuned later this week from our special interview feature of Steve.

Partnering with Oceana County Council on Aging, which provided the transportation, LMSL is committed to establishing community connections for its residents.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SHAROLYN ROSS AS OUR EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!

Sharolyn works the day shift in Home 1 and has been with LMSL for just over a year, but in healthcare for 30+ years. She likes to travel by car (not plane😉) and is a huge fan of sunflowers and dragonflies. She is a team player, and you may have seen her in an LMSL video that she so graciously volunteered to do. We are very thankful to have her.

Our hallways are glowing with green attire, laughter is echoing through every room, and the blenders are working overtime, whipping up legendary shamrock shakes! From leprechaun hats to sparkly beads, our residents and staff are celebrating Irish style — and bringing ALL the festive energy!

In 2018, Karen Duer and her husband stood on a piece of property overlooking Lake Michigan and felt called to create something extraordinary.

"We felt that we needed to build something where seniors could spend their last days enjoying God's creation," Karen shares. "Our goal is to honor them, respect them, and love on them."

What started as a calling became Lake Michigan Senior Living — a place where residents live in their own private spaces with their own bathrooms and refrigerators, yet gather as family for home-cooked meals, movies, and community.

"It's like living at home, but with 24-hour care and one-on-one attention," Karen explains. "Basically living at home while on Lake Michigan — where every day is a vacation."
