❤️🌹 Valentine’s Day at The Meadows Senior Living 🌹❤️

Valentine’s Day has a long history, dating back to a man known as Saint Valentine, who believed deeply in love, loyalty, and human connection.

While today often focuses on flowers and chocolates 💐🍫, the heart of Valentine’s Day has always been about something much deeper; choosing care, choosing kindness, and choosing to show up for one another.

And that’s exactly what we celebrated today at The Meadows. ❤️

Our residents enjoyed:
🍪 Cookies & sweet treats
🥨 Chips, dip & snacks
🥤 Drinks & laughter
🎶 A fun game of “Don’t Break My Heart”
🎤 And yes… every time someone won, we played Billy Ray Cyrus’s classic “Achy Breaky Heart” and clapped for our champions! 👏💃

We handed out Valentine’s cards 💌, sweet gift bags 🍬, and captured smiles at our photo booth 📸 and the joy in the room was contagious.

But what makes days like this special isn’t just the decorations or the music.

It’s the culture.

It’s the laughter between staff and residents.
It’s the patience, the hugs, the encouragement.
It’s the way our team creates moments that feel like home. 🏡❤️

At The Meadows, love looks like:

A Birthday Celebration Full of Winners! 🎂🎉

We had a "Bingo-tastic" time at The Meadows! We kicked things off with a very special Birthday Bingo hosted by our wonderful friend Morgan Taylor with Doctor's Choice Home Care & Hospice Texas. There’s nothing like the thrill of a "B-I-N-G-O" shout to get the party started! 🎈

But the fun didn't stop there. We transitioned straight into our Monthly Birthday Party to honor all of our amazing residents born this month. We sang "Happy Birthday", followed by a delicious spread of cake and sugar-free ice cream. 🍨🍰

A huge thank you to Morgan for making our residents feel so special and for the fantastic prizes, and to Gipson Funeral Home for providing the delicious birthday cakes!

❤️ Spreading the Love with Our Neighbors! ❤️

Our hearts are officially full at The Meadows! 💌✨ Our incredible residents spent an afternoon writing Valentine’s Day notes for the patients at Castle Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center. ✂️🎨

Castle Pines Health & Rehabilitation Center is just a quarter-mile down the road from us, and we truly consider them our neighbors and friends! 🤝 We know firsthand how much heart and soul their team puts into caring for their patients, so we were thrilled that our residents wanted the chance to send some extra sunshine their way. ☀️💐

There was great turnout for this project and seeing our residents put so much thought and care into every card showed us that hospitality and kindness are alive and well at The Meadows. 🏠❤️ It’s a beautiful thing to see neighbors supporting neighbors right here in our community! 🌳🏡

We’ve had so much going on lately, and we wanted to share some of our favorite moments with you. From spiritual fellowship to creative games, there is never a dull moment here!

Gospel Music: A huge thank you to Jerry and Rhonda for the beautiful music that always lifts our spirits. 🎵📖

Activity Coordinator Appreciation: Shout out to Morgan Taylor for showing appreciation to our staff member, Elaine, who does so much with activities! We appreciate everything you do to keep our community engaged. 🌟 ❤️

Games & Fun: We had a blast with our Bottle Match Game, Bingo, and even some "Ice Fishing" with Lindsay from Hospice in the Pines! 🎣🔢

Food & Movies: Nothing beats fresh popcorn and a classic John Wayne movie. 🍿🎬

Faith & Fellowship: We enjoyed a wonderful Bingo, sermon and time together with New Life Church. 🙏

New Year’s Spirit: Our residents got creative making their own noisemakers to ring in the new year! 🎉🔔

The Meadows Lufkin is looking for a talented, compassionate, and reliable Hair Stylist to serve our wonderful senior living community!

We provide the salon space; you provide the talent. Our residents love their weekly "spa time," and we are looking for someone to take over this established spot.

The Opportunity
Established Clientele: You aren't starting from scratch—our residents are eager and ready for appointments.

Ultimate Flexibility
While our previous stylist was here Tuesdays (9 AM – 2 PM), we are open to discussing the days and times that work best for your schedule.

Be Your Own Boss
You set your own rates and handle your own payments directly with the residents. We simply provide the professional space for you to work.

A Rewarding Environment
You’ll be working with a kind, appreciative group of seniors who truly value the time they spend in the chair.

What We’re Looking For
Certified & Licensed: Must hold a valid Texas Cosmetology License.

Senior-Friendly: Someone who enjoys working with seniors and understands the importance of patience and a friendly smile.

Reliable: Since this is a scheduled service for our residents, consistency is key.

A quick shout-out to Morgan Taylor and ! ❄️🐞

We had a great time at The Meadows yesterday! Morgan stopped by and kept everyone moving with a "snowball fight" (our residents have a pretty good aim! 🎯) and then helped us put together some love bug crafts for the season. 🎨✨

Morgan is a great partner to have in our community. Beyond the fun activities, she’s highly professional, knowledgeable, and always a pleasure to work with. We really value having partners like Doctor's Choice who take the time to truly engage with our residents and support the culture we are building here. 🤝🏠

⛳️ Hole-in-One Service at The Meadows! ⛳️

We had such a blast yesterday with a little indoor Putt-Putt Golf! A huge thank you to Kendall Beattie with Elite Medical Home Care for coming in and leading the fun.

If you know Kendall, you know she’s always smiling, full of energy, and brings a "lively" spirit that our residents absolutely love. But the fun is only half the story; Kendall and the Elite team are a consistent presence here, showing up twice a day, every single day to provide caregiving assistance and medical transportation for our residents.

At The Meadows, we believe a true partner is someone who can handle the serious side of care while still making time to play a round of golf with our residents. Kendall, thank you for your years of friendship and for being the kind of partner who truly goes the extra mile! ❤️🏡🏆
