Hope Starts Here is more than a campaign. It’s a promise to this community.

First introduced on Survivors Day 2025, this effort has been building for nearly a year. With the support of our community and through moments like Boots & BBQ, we have continued to invest in what matters most.

Gibson Cancer Center is that place where every detail reflects care, comfort, and hope for patients and families. We know how much it means to this community and to the people who walk through its doors every day.

Your support goes beyond enhancements. It changes experiences. It eases burdens. It reminds patients and families they are not alone.

Candi Collins Named Carolina Care Ambassador

Following an adverse reaction to an infusion treatment, RN Candi Collins of Gibson Cancer Center aided a patient throughout multiple side effects caused by the infusion. Although treatment was supposed to last only 45 minutes, it ended up being a three-hour visit. Because of Collins’ fast response, the patient was able to return home and rest. The patient expressed that they felt like they were the only patient in the room and apologized for taking up so much of her time to which Collins responded, "I am here to care for you!"

Anyone interested in having their photo taken for the project should stop into Gibson Cancer Center’s Obbie Lee Community Room on Thursday, January 15 between 9-11 a.m.

Please note that a photo release form will be required to be signed to participate.
