Big news for Robeson County! 📢

Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, in partnership with UNC Health Southeastern, is launching the county’s first palliative care clinic this March. The clinic will provide compassionate support for patients with serious illnesses—available in-office, at home, and via telehealth.

The Healthy Robeson Coalition is looking for diverse representation from all sectors of Robeson County, including:
- local businesses and industry leaders,
- education and school system representatives,
- clergy and faith-based organizations,
- human service agencies and community advocates, and
- concerned citizens who want to see Robeson County thrive.

The group meets bi-monthly on the first Thursday of the month from 12 - 1:30 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for April 2. Lunch is provided. To join the coalition or for more information, contact Ashton Hunt at ashton.hunt@unchealth.unc.edu or (910) 735-8251.

There is a myth circulating on social media that ivermectin can be used as a “miracle cure” to treat cancer. There are multiple studies on cells in petri dishes and in mice that show some evidence that ivermectin interferes with cell replication signals. This hasn’t been shown in humans, and the doses used in these studies are so high that they would be toxic to humans.
