Did you know that droplets [germs!] when you sneeze can travel up to 19-26ft away from you?! 🤢 Sneezes can also travel up to 100mph!!!! 😵. Say whaaaat!

So cover your mouths when you sneeze please...but not with your hands, unless you’re going to wash them right away-while you sing the ABC’s twice! 🤪 And if you’re sick, please keep your germs at home! Even though we take our elderberry daily and teach our kids that sharing is caring....we still don’t want the funk! 😷

🤬👎🏽Let’s talk ingredients in the four main brands of elderberry syrup [Sambucol Black Elderberry Syrup, Zarbees Natural Immune Support Elderberry Gummies, Gaia Black Elderberry Syrup, Natures Way Organic Sambucu] you can purchase on the grocery store, drug store, health food store shelves….

📍Natural Flavor

📍Natural color

📍Citric Acid

📍Sugar (Corn syrup, Glucose Syrup, Agave)

📍Potassium Sorbate (Sambucol brand only)

What is wrong with these ingredients?

✏️ Natural flavors is a term that is not regulated by the FDA and allows flavors derived from any form of plant and animals. Often companies will hide neurotoxins such as MSG and aspartame under this ingredient bracket with no consequence.

✏️ Natural colors is a term similar to the flavor term...a catch all that is not regulated or monitored.

✏️ Citric Acid is a preservative and flavor enhancer used in stored foods. It can be irritating to sensitive digestive systems, acid reflux suffers, allergies and sensitive skin.

✏️ Artifical sweeteners are known to cause all kinds of harmful effects in your body. And you miss out on all the awesome benefits of raw local honey.

✏️ Potassium Sorbate- a salt based preservative known to cause Hypersensitivity Reactions.

What does “All Natural” really mean?

According to the FDA they do not technically define the term All Natural. They do however say that if something is labeled as All Natural it should not contain artifical colors, flavors or other synthetic substances. They are however allowed to contain preservatives, added sodium and artifical sweeteners. This term is not monitored.
