Makoto Ono from Japan has sent us a stunning dental image for IJED 04/25 📸
The featured patient case highlights the accordion technique used in a long-distance free gingival graft. This approach allows tension-free adaptation of the graft before suturing, contributing to a harmonious and esthetic outcome.
The contrast between the white graft tissue and the red recipient bed creates a visually striking and beautiful appearance ✨
This technique is used to expand a palatal free gingival graft (FGG) for keratinized mucosa augmentation around implants and adjacent natural teeth. It is a minimally invasive solution to achieve keratinized mucosa augmentation with reduced donor site morbidity.

Yesterday, I achieved a lifelong dream. It was a long, challenging, and deeply rewarding journey: I defended my PhD!

I am profoundly grateful to my supervisor, Prof. .dr for his invaluable guidance, motivation, trust, and constant encouragement to aim higher. You are an endless source of inspiration, a role model, a true mentor in every sense. Thank you so much for everything!!
