Nashville Equine Therapy Helping people find purpose, self, and healing through connecting to horses.

Over the years, I have found that clients who show up for themselves on these colder days have a greater measure of success and healing. After being told much of their lives that they are victims, they learn that they are in fact, strong, and know how to show up. They care for themselves by the fire, they are open to the horses and co-regulating with them, and suddenly the cold weather doesn’t make a difference anymore.

This scared my dogs. Good thing my horses can’t see it!

Everyone, please welcome our latest member of the herd, Cookie. Our teeny Palomino comes in a “born this way” body - giving her the legs and hair of a 90’s Pamela Anderson and the personality of 2025 Dolly. She’s adjusting well to her new life here getting regular meals, a comfy stall at bedtime, and a new tiny boyfriend. And of course, Big Jim’s already in love. ❤️.

Working in the barn because Gus is on stall rest and he gets lonely in here. He checks in a lot to touch my head and breathe with me. I already know the power of horses and even I am still learning how powerful it is to sit in quiet with them. I find myself totally relaxed and connected. Really powerful.

We almost lost Gus. Without going into great detail, I just wanted to share that I’m so grateful I can see my horses all the time and that I and my family know them so well. It was a very rough couple of days and we didn’t know if he was going to make it. And I’m here to report that he absolutely did and he is home and he’s doing great. Thank you to: .c.hoffman who’s a local equine consultant and dear friend who took the first call from me who said “Get him to the vet. I’ll meet you there.” Thanks to Dr. Julia for caring as much as we do about Gus and cheering him on to get better. Thanks to for noticing Gus didn’t look good before even I did. Our old man is home and he’s doing great. Whew. I love the senior horses and I knew taking him on was gonna hurt at the end. I’m so glad we aren’t there yet. Senior horses carry with them a sense of wisdom and understanding that I can’t quite explain. And I don’t need to. Gus is up for visitors and will be back to work in the pastures hopefully end of the week! 🐴❤️‍🩹

In the din of the dirt in the pasture, I found a tiny iridescent blue feather. I’m reminded that Equine therapy is about horses and so much more. And often the therapist herself gets what she needs out here.
